Check you video card specs it will have a listed max digital resolution

Also in order to run the game on Ultra setting at 4K x 3 monitors you would be needing 2-3 GTX 1050+ in SLI

There is No point running IL2 on 4K then only using High or balanced setting
Ultra is needed for max detail and the 4K plane skins.

Max Display Abilities for GTX1060 and others.

So you cannot run 3 x 4K
7680x4320 at 60Hz RGB 8-bit with dual DisplayPort connectors or 7680x4320 at 60Hz YUV420 8-bit with one DisplayPort 1.3 connector.

Also what you are wanting is an INSANELY High Resolution
3840x2160 x 3 =
Total Res of 24,880,000 Pixels.
Versus
1920x1080 x 3 = Total Res of 6,224,000 Pixels
THATS A HUGE DIFFERENCE

I have to disagree with your assessment as I run other games at 11520x2160 resolution so it is in my mind a limitation in the game.  Also I run 8000x 2160 above 100 fps so I think it will handle this just fine for my tastes.  Also I have only tried to run with 2 HDMI to Display port adapters and one tv is HDMI connected.  So as I said this config works fine with other games.  This issue persists in SLI and single card mode.

edit...thank you for input Shadow

have you taken a screenshot then used gimp to count the total pixels?

just curious?
What monitor could possibly run 11520 wide. (for something about 60cm high screen that would be about 240-360cm wide monitor :O)

Link to monitor please.
and system specs.
i mean Ultra in il2 and 100fps @ 8000x2160 res (thats like i7 and GTX Titan )

ok so you Can you get the desktop to span all 3 Tv's with a desktop Res of

11,520 x 2160 and other games work ok?

Have you tried to enter the config file and force the resolution in il2?

Have you tried the old school way of spanning?

Create a custom resolution of 11520 x 2160

Then force game to this in config and windowed mode.

Yes Shadow...I can play Borderlands 2 for example and Star Wars Battlefront runs really well.  Config gives me same result, though I have only tried to change the resolution and full/windowed options with no go...like I said up to 8000x2160 its golden then that is the "magic" cutoff where I see the error message.  Also when I try to force a custom resolution in Nvidia control panel I can only go to 6900x2160 then the TV seems to be the restricting factor?  Seems to me there is some kind of hard block at 8000x2160?  I really appreciate you taking your time to help.  Hoping its just something the devs can change to access higher resolutions as it seems I may be one of the first to even try it at this resolution.

After latest patch I can now using the startup.cfg file set the resolution to 11520x2160 getting 50-60 fps for the little i have run. The issue I am now having is that any resolution higher than 8000x2160 Causes the cockpit view to shift to the right? so the aiming reticule ends up at the right bezel of the main screen. As I go back down closer to 8000x2160 the view lets say 9500x2160 the reticule works its way back towards the middle of the screen.(half way back to the middle) So something weird is happening right at 8000x2160. this seems to be some cap in view for some reason...now when I run 5760x1080 all is well in the cockpit? I will post pics asap. I can say that this game will run @ 11520x2160 pretty well from what I have seen so far. I-7 6700k/2xSLI 980tis fyi. Just need to get view centered. Just so people know this cannot be solved by moving around the cockpit...The view itself is cocked to the right.post-21047-0-77228100-1488694749_thumb.jpg11520x2160

Installed latest drivers and now 11520x2160 runs great...45-50 fps on the ground with 8 110s on the runway and 8 HE111s in the air at 300m.  Pegged at 60+ when 200m off the ground...amazing.

That is a sweet setup.  I'm waiting on three 24 inch 144hz monitors as one of my old samsung 2233rz's finally kicked permanantly and there are no longer replacement parts available....

I'm stoked to get that up and running.  What you have is amazing.  Enjoy the hell out of it.  :)

Thanks so much Beazil...Many years of building this up.  I have a Pimax 4k on the way to top everything off.  Still will use triple screen for many other games even if I cannot come back from VR?  I will say ID on aircraft is superb in 4k.  I think you will be more than happy with the 144hz setup...I was so torn but I have realized over time that 60hz refresh rate is good for my eyes...when I see 120 or 144 I perceive a slight difference.  The size of the TVs just won me over in the end.  I look forward to your impressions of your setup and also to the improvements Jason discussed about giving a proper 3 screen mode.
