Uriah Posted February 18, 2017 Posted February 18, 2017 While flying off line in campaigns it seems the throttle may start out with 100% but soon will go at most to 80%. Is this a feature or a bug?
6./ZG26_Klaus_Mann Posted February 18, 2017 Posted February 18, 2017 You are aware that it doesn't Posess a Manifold Pressure Regulator like all the other ingame Aircraft and that you have to Manage the actual Throttle (not the MAP Regulator like on all other Aircraft ingame) yourself? If you aren't I am sure someone else will find the time to explain what a Supercharger is, how it works and how a MAP Regulator effects your Engine/Manifold Pressure behaviour. I may find the time tomorrow, but not today.
69th_chuter Posted February 18, 2017 Posted February 18, 2017 Actually, I was watching an Allison manifold pressure regulator that sold on ebay last month for $42.55. This is the part that liaison officer Hitchcock documented the RAF removed without much consequence.
Blutaar Posted February 18, 2017 Posted February 18, 2017 Maybe its the autothrottle feature that you get when choosing normal instead of expert. If normal then you need to press "LShift N" to deactivate it.
senseispcc Posted February 18, 2017 Posted February 18, 2017 Yes, the P-40 is one of the most difficult plane to fly if you take in consideration the question of engine overheating! Let me explain. In the game you cannot with one key put your RPM and fuel flow (pressure) in the right parameters like they did and still do in the real plane! In real life you can put the fuel in full rich and the revs at max. Something you can do in the game only do in manual mode?!
DD_Arthur Posted February 18, 2017 Posted February 18, 2017 (edited) Uriah, are you selecting expert mode or normal mode when you run missions in the campaign? If you are running in normal mode then the game will start to restrict your throttle openings after flying for a short while to avoid over-heating or destroying your engine through mechanical break down. The P40 is very sensitive to over-boosting, over-revving its engine. It souds like you are running in normal mode. Next time try selecting expert mode. If you blow your engine then you'll know its not a bug!! Edit: Doh! See what Ishtaru says above. Edited February 18, 2017 by DD_Arthur
Riderocket Posted February 18, 2017 Posted February 18, 2017 It'll be like revving a car in the red zones for long period of time. It'll do damage eventually, the throttle limiter (if enabled) saves your plane from blowing up due to over rev. Simple.
Uriah Posted February 18, 2017 Author Posted February 18, 2017 I've been flying CAMPAIGN and I see there is only NORMAL and EXPERT. I had been doing just 1on1 stuff where you can customize. Point is from all your replies I should choose EXPERT if I want full engine control.
Blutaar Posted February 18, 2017 Posted February 18, 2017 (edited) Or you just toggle these little helpers off. LShift N, LShift M and R, dont know if its the default config but these 3 things you have to turn off when you want full engine control in normal difficulty. lol i should have said what these toggles do, LShift N= throttle limiter, LShift M= Mixture i think and R for raidiators.
