Really drooling over it myself.

 

It was the BlitzPigs favorite map in the original sim.  We had so many good times there. 

 

Can't wait to see it in the new sim, with all it's improvements.

Another similar great map I liked from IL2:1946 is mediterranean theater (was too short on the south east side, but still quite good). It's somehow more fun when landscape is having it all...

Getting the A-20 and P-39 are very high on my list of good things in the sim.

I can't wait to for low level dogfights in the mountains, trying to use the terrain as a weapon while avoiding it yourself.

 

Also low cloud cover forcing formations to navigate through the valleys.

 

On that note, I wonder if/hope that the map has topography indicated somehow...

Some of those bomber going to have problems

you have to adjust bombsight for rising terrain on the fly as it uses radio contact altimeter

will be fun with mountains.

Can't wait. This was one of my favorites in the old IL2 too.

 

With a little imagination, the terrain can stand in for some other scenarios... coasts, harbors, mountains. And it should look amazing in this engine.

 

I am looking forward to the new aircraft too, but most of all this map.

Absolutely looking forward to it, those screens were very impressive. The maps we have now are great but so flat.

1. New career mode

 

2. Kuban map

 

3. P-39

 

4. New rudder force modeling

 

5. Fw 190A5

 

6. Everything else

I miss the feeling of flying and navigating over water.  Really looking forward to it.

I remember making a CoOp with a flight of IL2's starting low over the water, then zooming up over the mountains to attack a German convoy in a valley on the far side. A dogfight between the escorts and enemy fighters ensued in the low clouds and mountain tops.

 

Can't wait to create those missions again,

Whenever there was an update to old IL-2 or I added a mod,  I always flew the 3 Me-109's vs IL-2's and 2 fighter escorts attacking the Novorossiysk harbour, original Luftwaffe Fighter single mission, as a sort of benchmark to check all was well, and check general FPS and performance

 

I became very familiar with that mission LOL, it will be great to sort of try it again in BoK
