Steam Screenshots for IL 2 no longer working...Any ideas on how to fix it ?

I bought BoS through steam and BoM and K directly from the IL 2 store. I think it may have been around the time of activating BoM on Steam that Steam's screenshot service stopped working for me.

The inbuilt screenshots still work but I wouldn't mind uploading some to show off the game on steam. I have had a bit of a look around the net for solutions but haven't found an answer that has helped me so far. It is still working for other games.

If anyone has any ideas or advice on this it would be appreciated.

It's working for me.

Could you check if you have anything crossbound to the F12 default key?

You could also try to reverify the game's local content to see if something is corrupted/missing.

Umm Yes... I find it is bound to 'Camera operator: friendly' (I don't remember ever doing that...)

I cleared that assignment but that hasn't fixed it. Another thing that may relate to it is that the Steam overlay doesn't work (shift +tab) in BoS even though it is enabled in the game 'properties'.

The files are all verified and fine and everything works except the steam type services. So it is not an urgent problem but I was wondering if it was a widespread issue or just something going on here. I don't use the steam overlay either, obviously.

Actually... thinking about it I may have bound that to F12 because it wasn't working for screen shots...

I'm not sure on that one, Pail.

I'm not on my rig at home so I can't check but I'm pretty sure it's possible to disable the overlay on a case-by-case basis - could you check that it hasn't accidentally been disabled for IL-2?

Another thing is you have to launch the game through Steam for the overlay to function - running IL2.exe on its own bypasses Steam - just a thought.

Just an update.....Giving Steam 'Administrator rights/privileges' fixed it and seems to over-ride the admin rights I had given BoS when it was having problems for me. I guess giving admin rights to a 'steam app' breaks the steam services...

Update... No it only worked that one launch. Now BoS requires admin privileges again and it won't let me revoke them.

So I'm stuck again.

I Take it Steam is installed in your (C:\program files) or (c:\program filesX86) folder?

No 'D' actually... 'C' is operating system....

I apparently can get it to work if I right click steam and run as administrator then launch BoS. A bit annoying though and I will no doubt generally forget to start it that way.

Right click on STEAM shortcut > Properties > tick "Run as administrator" box. Done, don't need do this again.

If are in Win10 right click and select > More > Open file location > then right click on STEAM shortcut in this folder and set as above.

You would think so, hey...

But unless I start steam as I said I have to 'allow this program to make changes blah...' for the admin privileges for BoS to launch and steam overlay and screenshots won't work.

...So I sort of have a fix but it is kind of annoying.
