I have a look on the manual from Jim p100 and 101, but it's not clear for me.

I have a mission which start at 6 oclock in the morning the 24 november 1942.

I want to use the Tigger date timer, i never used to deactivacte the check zone which activate landing fire when the sunrise.

I add the trigger date timer on my map, open its setting. I set the date to the 24 november 1942 and set the triggger to sunset and point to daytime.cfg.

In the trigger the hour is set to 12h00 which i don't believe it's right.

Here is a screen of my settings.

When you pick sunrise, the date and time fields are ignored, I believe. And indeed, they are greyed out in he GUI.

Habu, as shown below, I can change the Type field doc in the Date Time Trigger topic (pg. 279), if that is what you found confusing.

Type

Specifies when the trigger will fire

Sunset – Fire the trigger at sunset
Note: The Date and Time fields are ignored and the trigger will fire at sunset on any date.

Sunrise – Fire the trigger at sunrise
Note: The Date and Time fields are ignored and the trigger will fire at sunrise on any date.

Time Mark – Fire the trigger at the specified time
Note: The Date field is ignored and the trigger will fire at the specified time on any date.

Date Mark – Fire the trigger at the specified date and time

OK, but I do not understand why i have to use the Daytime.cfg. I though that i have to set sunrise, then the daytime.cfg, and the right value will be display in the date and hour ?

What do you mean by "use"? Did you set it explicitly? I've never touched that field, and that worked just fine for me.

In any case, I believe the land light logic in the generated campaign missions use the sunset/sunrise datetime trigger. Did you take a look at how they do it?

I try to follow the manual from Jim.

Here are what i did

1- Set to Sunrise, but as the mission date do not change

2- Set to Date and set the same date as my mission 24 november 1942.

3- Set to sunrise

4- Select Daytime.cfg

It's better like this.

Jim, may you say me what exactly (if you know) do the use of the Daytime.cfg, and any limitation it has, as you did in a previous post, please.

Sorry Habu, I'm not sure that I understand your question (maybe a translation problem from French). Are you asking if you need to set anything in daytime.cfg? If so, the answer is no; just make sure it's in the "Config" field (which it is by default).

Sorry, here is a new try. ;)

Ok, what is the need to use the daytime.cfg, what is its effect exactly ?

In daytime.cfg file are time of sunrise and sunset for every month. So this MCU will trigger on different time depending on the month if set to sunrise or sunset.

Ok Jim.

If i understand well :

- If i want to use the trigger with Sunrise or Sunset, i have to use the daytime.cfg. The use of the daytime.cfg do not display any time.

- if i want to use the trigger Time mark, or Date mark, i don't have to use the daytime.cfg

That's right, but daytime.cfg is in the "Config" field by default. The date time trigger uses it if it has to (sunrise/sunset) and ignores it if it doesn't have to use it (time/date).

I suppose if someone wanted to experiment with sunrise/sunset dates and times, they could copy the daytime.cfg file (recommended!), edit the copy, and specify the copy in "Config".

That was not the case, when i try to use it on 11th february. The field was blank.

Thx for your information Jim.

Hmmm, maybe the default behaviour changed since I wrote the manual or I got it wrong from the start. I'll correct the "Date Time Trigger" topic. Thanks.
