So, I was asked today by a fellow pilot about making a drop zone.

I did it like this:

All I want is for a subtitle to pop-up when the paratroopers are dropped. I'd also like one for when the land too. I also do not know how to draw an area like a red circle around the objective that is a 4000m diameter.

Can anyone help me? I have the Tangmere Pilots Mission Building Guide and it does go over this. It however only covers messages when targets are attacked. Thanks guys, I await your reply

Complex trigger - add appropriate aircraft name to objects list or nationality or aircraft type - add event "on bingo cargo" to timer, target to subtitle.

There is no event yet for "on cargo/troopers dropped" which we need, so we have to use "bingo cargo" for now which only fires when all the troopers/cargo have exited.

Also, there is no way to detect troopers on the ground.

So you'll have to test and see how long it takes from the bingo cargo event firing to the last trooper landing.

Then add another "bingo cargo" event and timer, and set the timer for that amount of time - then target to another subtitle. :)

For the red circle, see the example on pg. 34 of my manual. You can use the measure mode tool (pg. 196) to measure 4,000m.

Thank you so much JimTM. I will do that tomorrow. Right now it's bed time for this man, LOL.

Yes there is. "Paratrooper landed alive", I think it's called

Perfect - hadn't noticed that.

This one is for the AAA that you were asking about. It's also in my mission.

Yes, the trigger is there. Sadly, the mission log entries for paratrooper and cargo container drops are done half-way, so that they're really not that usable when doing stuff based on mission log entries :(

It's as simple as that!

Just asking, I ve set me complex trigger for para landed to trigger a non resetable counter of 10 ( didn't want 12 so pilots have a margin of error), a second counter for 20 and third of 30, each one triggers a sub "1st group landed" "2ng group landed" e.t.c., in the complex trigger I didn't set any planes but only the country and it works, but is it wrong??

I could be wrong, but from my testing, the complex trigger only checks to see if ONE paratrooper landed from each pilot's plane. What I mean by that is, each person's plane that paradrops troops - only counts as ONE hit for your counter. It doesn't matter how many of that person's troops landed in the area, only ONE is counted for the complex trigger event to fire off to your counter event. The complex trigger event will not fire off multiple times on "LandedandAlive" or "Jumped" (to any event) for each landed trooper in a single plane. When there's multiple planes, then the complex trigger will indeed fire off for each plane's troops, but only one time per plane.

This means, as I understand your question, you need 10 people to pilot 10 Ju52s , and successfully paradrop in your complex trigger area (or one person to fly, paradrop troops off, and land - 10x). Then you need another 10 (for the 20 count counter), and another 10 (for the 30 count counter) and so on...

From my testing, I can say it doesn't work this way.

It will trigger for each paratrooper that lands.

Same here. I even made a mission that was heavily based on the number of paratroopers that landed. The number of live paratroopers reaching the ground controlled the number of machine guns in a fire fight on the ground. https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/index.php?app=core&module=attach&section=attach&attach_id=28550

You could use a single complex trigger, I think. These things were reported to be resource-heavy. It probably does not matter in a SP mission, but could become a problem in MP if you start making dozens of them. 3 should not be a problem, but it's probably a good habit to be conservative with those if you can.

Thank you Coconut, I was wondering how much we can make.

Actually, I made 3 for learning purpose, so anyone can pick one and do copy paste to his mission.

This whole thing opens up a whole new world for the Ju-52 online!

Hi guys, thanks for your help  , I made 3 complex trigger (2 paras and 1 cargo delivery) with subtitle

tested , working!

Trying to setup a Ju 52 mission like this but it didn't work (triggers were setup to launch flares when a Ju 52 entered the trigger area).

I than tried Nil's mission on our test server and the triggers again didn't activate the events. Is there anything I can do to change that?

This is what my mission looks like right now:

The name of the plane is probably wrong. Clear that lower-left box and see if that helps.

Thx for the reply. Tried it without the object name entry and still doesn't work.

Managed to get the flares to work with a check zone trigger (which in my case is good enought). What I still need to do is implement a subtitle for confirming a sucesfull drop of cargo canisters in the drop zone.

Is there any way to set this up without using compley triggers (which I still have not managed to get working)?
