your words: "I'm a more experienced gamer than you and I'm guru software that know limits of the engine of this game..so I prefer other things to be priorized.." .

-snip-

No, what we're saying is that many of us have been playing this sim since the first day that you could fly the LaGG with a simplified flight model. After four years of following the sim's development, the staff changes on the team, the changes in priorities, the changes in timeline, etc. we have enough experience with this dev team to have a decent grasp on the types of features and content they prioritize. That is factual.

One thing that irks me is people who base their entire argument around "Oh, well you have an opinion so you disagreeing with mine means you're trying to snuff my opinion." No, honestly Fox, it seems like you are the one who is having trouble accepting that different people prioritize different things than you and your behavior and tone indicates the sheer dissonance you must be feeling as a result of it.

Seriously, man... Just knock it off. Nobody is saying you can't have an opinion but you're failing to produce any indication that you're giving that same courtesy and respect to other posters in this thread.

Much more important to get the cranes in Moscow right, IMHO.

Uhhh... No.

Blood squirting from the cockpit should be top priority right now.

No. We need flight capable wildlife first so we can always have a chance of getting taken out by the evening dinner's main course

Goat simulator d@mmit!

The amount of goat milk produced in a single simulation cycle is unrealistic.

Just another post of your that really don't produce nothing than inconsistency, and moreover take opinion quite the opposite about my behaviour snipping parts of complete phrases just to give distorted version about other opinion. The only right thing in complete dissonance for me is to waste time talk with people like you that don't lost any post to reveal just the polemic spirit that you have dear Space_ghost.

And oh! for your information  reading your age I'm quite shure I enjoy flight sims and read/write in forums sims starting little bit more time in the past than you...but without so hard polemic like you always demostrate unfortunately.

Just remember that ignore your continuos polemic to any argument will be for sure my first goal here from today. So keep talk to yourself for the future about me. Bye, young men.

Hmmm why do we need to destroy trees when we can all just destroy each other?

Edit: That has a nice pun to it considering this is a combat flight sim

I have no idea what this is supposed to say - what I can gather from it is that you still can't stand people who hold opinions different than your own.

My age is irrelevant, especially considering that you can hardly act your own... Whatever age that is.

Look, it's a tree being lifted by a crane!

-snip-

Russians were only using 1/4" core steel wire with 1/8" steel wound around the core for their cranes between 1939-1946... That is clearly 1/2" core with 1/8" winding... Unrealistic.

Also, the tree DM is way off. I would expect more flex and at least some limb breakage with that kind of sling.

Yep, I'll never invest another cent in this terrible dev team and unrealistic video game until my demands are conceded to.

Whatever bro, damage model is spot on. It lost all of its leaves just like a tree really would if you ripped it out of the ground super fast with an crane explosion

Ok to get this back on topic...

I think the blood spray effect should resemble the scene where the guy was tossed in the pit in Army of Darkness. If say a 23mm or 37mm hits a crew area there should be a huge blood cloud like an oil drum of blood exploded. It can be smaller for smaller calibre bullets but you should definitely be able to tell if you hit a person in their plane from your plane.

To get this really back on topic - are you implying that the tree DM should also have a maple syrup vapor cloud on impact?

Wait... Does the Russian step even have tasty maple trees? I'll pay tree-fiddy for an arboretum expansion!

There are some high quality s***posts in this thread... I think we're starting to rival /r/hoggit for comedic s***posting.

But why don't trees splinter when I hit/shoot/bomb them? This definitely needs to be fixed.

But why don't trees catch my parachute when I bail over them? This needs to be fixed.

But why are all of the trees evenly spread out? This needs to be fixed.

Yeah it would be nice but not important, we should be thankfull to have solid trees and not just some painted ones without a collision model like we have in other titles. :)

I am in complete accord with you and if destroying trees does impact the smoothness of the game let the trees be like they are now, please!

WoW I could not have imagined how this thread went up down off course back again. What a wild ride. Thanks to all contributors. The future is in the hands of devs and their priority list.

Don't forget we need 4k textures for trees also.

Oh god... my PC can only handle so much!

CPU stress? Not overly a problem.

I mean it runs great on 4 cores +

They rarely over 45% usage on a LOW END cpu like my FX-8350

All thats really needed if effect generator that sends grass and leafs flying when you hit a tree.

(eg every tree top has a leaf pumper and contact with it or very near makes the leaves come out.

Yes, but for the people with CPU's like me (Athlon 860k) this could massively impact performance.

I don't see how blowupable trees increases the experience of our flight simulation, I never attack trees.

I always bomb useful targets like factories or convoys.

To the people who are bombing trees:

What the hell are you even doing?

Cmon trees blowing up??? , look at fuel barrels they are filed with concrete ;)

Trees Do catch yours chute and in fact have cut my shoot more than once but this rarely kills you as you only 10ft from ground.

Trees do need some special effects generators at least.
Eg, flying leaves when you hit them or fly low over them.

as for fully destructible they rarely look good (eg after destruction must games delete the trees instead of leaving a piles of logs)

Hey, I'm all for a special effect of trees giving off a burst of loose leaves, when struck by something or being close to an explosion. That would look cool and probably not be too taxing on the system, since it's a pretty basic particle effect.

I think another thing that confuses me about this whole argument is...........

If you're hitting or bombing trees, I feel like you're doing something wrong. Not only should you not be running into trees, but targets aren't very close to trees very often lol

Strange I find myself tasked with attacking convoys and trains going through forests all the time. I've bombed a lot of trees lately.

On a road though, and in that case, it's better to use lots of 100kg bombs instead of larger ones. Would those really disturb the trees on either side other than just making them shake and splinter a little, of which you wouldn't see from the air?

Not to mention that's all behind you at that point and the next person attacking is focusing on the target and not the pretty trees nearby

All small things add up to world atmosphere which lead to fun and greater immersion but there are plenty of others stuff to warry at present development stage than trees losing leafs :) plane smashing trees look cool as all we see on artist image during load times, same with cgi intro when sturmovics are dropping bombs. In the very end we do not want solid concrete environment don't we? I like to blow up all kinds of stuff in virtual world (it's great when I can appreciate physics programmer skills), but I don't give myself mission to blow up whole forest in sake to just watch or because it can be done:)

If I have to choose between compelling features like manually operating the fuel systems, having a shutoff valve for 109 radiators or having "non-concrete trees" I will take the former vs. the latter any day of the week.

Trees with a DM doesn't do it for me, it isn't going to do it for me and I fail, in entirety, to see how this would be a revolutionary feature in CFS or what it would really bring to the table from a gameplay perspective.

Fun and greater immersion comes from recon missions when they release the Fi 156 or the Po-2.

@LukeFF - Requesting one dead horse, please.
