Is there a pilot in the cockpit?

This false pilot legs would be on the last place of my priority list.

In DCS there is an option to hide pilots bodies, since arms and legs usually hide some important gauges etc behind them.

I find my body in DCS pilots often to be separated to my head. It is like I all the time have to reset my TrackIr . Maybe it is because I am used to fly without pilot, I do not miss it. I do not use it in DCS because of this awkward feeling of being unattached to ones body while flying, it make me scratch my neck

The gore mods for the 1946 were a very nice touch in my opinion.  Like pilot bodies I believe it should and could hopefully with mods on be a select-able option...we all win.

Yes I have nothing against it, by all means. But the animation got to be to the point and it got to be quality. I tried WT a long time ago, I think it was. It might have been a module in DCS . And the  pilot looked like the "((THING))" it was just a weird plastic body shaped thing

I like to see my avatars body in Elite Dangerous. Especially when it is woman avatar in tight spacesuit.I find myself not paying attention to HUD as much as I should :D

Yes indeed  Was the gunner even strapped in in reality or did he just sit on that small canvas belt without any further safety? Then that screaming would be veery understandable..

I played some DCS 190 and there we have a pilot model now.

It looks good as long as im not looking back and lean so i can see my body without a head har har.

Whats also bad is when you cant see the trim settings for example because your arm blocks the view, you have to disable the body or lean and make all kinds of movement to see it.

This is not to big of a problem but it is distracting and not so good as i thaught it will be, what we need is a feature where you move your arms or legs when you look at something what is obscured by the body like you would do in RL.

But i think it will need alot of work for every individual plane, the pilot model need the same importance like the details in a cockpit itself, the pilot needs to be part of the cockpit interior to make it perfect otherwise it will be anoying with time and people start turning it off.

And then all the work is done for nothing, i think thats exactly the problem, to make it good you need resources and thats why i think the best version we can get is the DCS one and this is not what i would like to have but its better than nothing, i would use it.

But i see this not as important enough anymore, better get us a good AI before doing such things i dont know, maybe at some point we will get an even better solution than my idea or something simpler.

Imagination helps with immersion, every flight sim, or game, has always seemed photorealistic at the time to me, the truth when going back and seeing old games now can be quite shocking!

Younger gamers are perhaps ' spoilt ' by the graphics they've known since getting into games; I wonder if that reduces the ability to imagine when playing a game.

Relevance? I don't need gore, the red vision is enough for me to 'feel' injured.

( PS I maintain that sound can often add more immersion than visuals for games. In il-2 this would be more radio chatter variety, and menu background sounds and music)

Edit: I'm not saying anyone who wants gore is young and lacking imagination, it is just a general pondering of how visuals in a game are interpreted

My son who was 13 or so when I had shown him 1946...He thought the game was cool but only played a bit.  But he did make me show him the outside view of the pilot getting shot a dying.   The blood on the canopy(a littler overdone in my opinion) He thought was cool and was going to cut it into a movie he was making with his pocket cam.  So my point is cool explosions, blood, good fire exf, visual damage model are all eye-candy for many of us older gamers(i am assuming your age sorry) but like you said more vital to the younger people wanting to get into the sim...I promise you my son would try to strafe the guys walking on the airfields just to see?  He is a good kid he just operates in the gaming world like a maniac.  So my point is these things can bring in new players in my opinion.  I do not see it as a priority for the sim but a great option for mods on if possible at all.
