MiloMorai Posted February 8, 2017 Posted February 8, 2017 There are 49 images. https://www.zoo.com/quiz/99-people-cant-name-each-these-world-war-ii-planes-an-image-can-you?utm_term=msn-msn&utm_content=World+War+II+Fighter+Planes%3A+Will+You+Bail+Out+or+Hit+Your+Target+on+This+Quiz%3F&utm_source=taboola&utm_medium=paid&utm_campaign=Zoo-WWIIPlanes(desktop)&mkcpgn=i600009957&sg_uid=zvxuO0gPRbqQXIqtCi-Jsg 49 of 49 for me and didn't use the hints. 3
Sgt_Joch Posted February 8, 2017 Posted February 8, 2017 good quiz, got 41. I had never seen some of these planes.
Matt Posted February 8, 2017 Posted February 8, 2017 42. Some interesting planes that i haven't seen before, but the majority were pretty simple.
Geleitzug Posted February 8, 2017 Posted February 8, 2017 Got also 42 - some were pretty simple and some really a "hard nut to crack"...
JtD Posted February 8, 2017 Posted February 8, 2017 48. I insist a real Fw190 is powered by a radial!
Brano Posted February 8, 2017 Posted February 8, 2017 Good quiz. 49/49. I was in doubt only with A5N ,as it kind of didnt look as it should, but at the and it was neither of the rest :D Some odditiess from old sturm there, nice. And Avia BH33. How did it even get there? Still have its paper model at parents house
Lusekofte Posted February 8, 2017 Posted February 8, 2017 The problem with the hints was the nationality was shown in the pictures, I think I would have a few wrong if the markings and paint scheme was not there
Finkeren Posted February 8, 2017 Posted February 8, 2017 49/49 and I didn't find it hard. I very nearly screwed up on number 48, man that was a bad image of an La-5. The problem with the hints was the nationality was shown in the pictures, I think I would have a few wrong if the markings and paint scheme was not there Sometimes the markings were misleading though. The CW-21 was shown in German markings (Anyone notice they used an IL-2 1946 screenshot?) and the A5M looked very much like pre-war USN markings.
ZachariasX Posted February 8, 2017 Posted February 8, 2017 48... almost... Yes, too bad they have visible country markings, makes ID by exclusion often enough too simple.
Retnek Posted February 8, 2017 Posted February 8, 2017 (edited) Had fun, 47 of 49 ... and that "Do 217" was a Do 17 Z (PS: the most beautiful 190s are the Longnoses!) Edited February 8, 2017 by 216th_Retnek
BOO Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 nice quiz but my selections were often formed more by knowing what, out of the 4 choices, it wasnt. 47/49. Had it been an straightforward "name the plane" I think that score would have been quartered! 1
Cybermat47 Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 Sometimes the markings were misleading though. The CW-21 was shown in German markings (Anyone notice they used an IL-2 1946 screenshot?) and the A5M looked very much like pre-war USN markings. It wasn't even an A5M, it was a P-26. 2
Pierre64 Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 Question 50 was more difficult : "Which WWII Messerschmitt combat plane is in this image ?" - Bf 109 G-6 AS - Bf 109 G-10 - Bf 109 G-14 - Bf 109 K-4
Dutchvdm Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 45 out of 49. More difficult then expected. Mostly it just worked to rule out most other options. That's more or less cheating.
Guest deleted@1562 Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 I got 35. With all the french planes I had to use the markings.
Solty Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 (edited) 47 Although I had about two lucky guesses. Edited February 9, 2017 by =LD=Solty
Notclear Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 49 For more little quizz: http://lemairesoft.sytes.net:1944/pages/page.aspx?univid=7215
Brano Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 It wasn't even an A5M, it was a P-26.Yep, that's why I was a bit confused. But none of the listed answers was any closer to it,so I chose A5M. Even it wasnt correct, according the quizmaster it was 2
Smouch Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 I'm not a total plane nerd but I got 45. Fun quiz though
ZachariasX Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 Question 50 was more difficult : "Which WWII Messerschmitt combat plane is in this image ?" - Bf 109 G-6 AS - Bf 109 G-10 - Bf 109 G-14 - Bf 109 K-4 IMG_0874.JPG Again, all wrong answers. How much did you score up to 49? It is a Bf-109 F in the MTO, shot down by Barry Hamblin piloting a Spitfire Mk.V during the Battle of the Bone. Now, we can guess what kind of Friedrich it was... 2? .. 4?
radio Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 46 , but is was no Do 217 because it is the Do17. Martin
Yogiflight Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 40 at the first try, 46 at the second. So I'm still able to learn. But the success in the second time was more like 'memory'.
Rjel Posted February 10, 2017 Posted February 10, 2017 48/49. Missed the very first one. I have to admit there were a couple of planes I'd never seen before so those were more guess than skill. But I think in a lot of cases WWII era planes from most countries followed a certain design philosophy. So I'll say they were educated guesses. I question the P-43 Lancer too. The plane pictured didn't look this. Is it possible it was a P-35?
Notclear Posted February 10, 2017 Posted February 10, 2017 (edited) This is a AT-6 texan modified on the picture not a real P-43. Hopefully the others responses are planes totality differents. Same for the mistake with A5M and P-26 The guy who make the quiz is definitively not in the 1%. Edited February 10, 2017 by Notclear
