6./ZG26_Loke Posted February 4, 2017 Posted February 4, 2017 S! It is like my Ju-52 have it's own control setup like in RoF, yet it's not possible in BoS series. When I engage the flaps using my button for flaps on my joystick, the window/canopy/cargodoor opens. When I try to close it using my canopy button on my throttle stick, nothing happens, same if I try using the default keys. It is only on the Ju-52 I have this issue, using my other aircraft's there is no problems and the canopy does not open when working my flaps. It's so weird???? Can't even close the window or cargodoor again. Anyone else had this problem?
Lusekofte Posted February 4, 2017 Posted February 4, 2017 The flaps do not work like other flaps in this game, it connects to the aileron or something and have to be disconnected again. I am sure there is a tutorial about this somewhere. I have not taken the time learning this. Since I fly Russian side mostly.
F/JG300_Gruber Posted February 4, 2017 Posted February 4, 2017 This is something strange, there must be a conflict somewhere, because the flaps aren't related at all with the canopy. The flaps are linked with the pitch trim for operation.

But can't see why it shall inflict on the window, so strange.
Nil Posted February 4, 2017 Posted February 4, 2017 it is very weird indeed. Seems a bug ? When you use your flaps on your keyboard, do you have this problem?
BornToBattle Posted February 4, 2017 Posted February 4, 2017 Interesting. So the JU-52 actually has flaps. Huh. Never used them and it's one of the easier planes to take off and land with too. I'll experiment today with this some and get back. Would like to see them in operation.

Drop the vertical stabilizer to the midway point on the proper gauge, disengage the flap lock and the rest of the range of the vert stab will deploy the flaps. Lift the vertical stabilizer to the midway point, this will pull the flaps up. You can reengage the lock afterwards. Edited February 4, 2017 by 4./JG52_Space_Ghost

Lift the vertical stabilizer to the midway point, this will pull the flaps up. You can reengage the lock afterwards. This is also described in the "Specifications" tab in the menu, including precise degrees to use. It sounds sort of complicated until you do it once or twice yourself.
Bestmann Posted February 10, 2017 Posted February 10, 2017 I love to fly the JU 52 but so far this 'linked stabilizer flaps' thing doesn't work for me. I followed the description in the specs menu. I assigned the stabilizer to an axis on my Saitek X52 but it just moves in one direction. Is there a working profile / key setting for the Saitek X52? By the way, as the Junkers takes off an lands on incredibly low speeds compared to all other planes I can't see the pracitcal use of the flaps at all (at least in the sim). Any idea?

Like mentioned earlier in the thread, you need to "trim yourself" to 0 degrees (or around the midway point of the gauge) - disengage the flap lock at this stage and the rest of the range is for deploying the flaps.
Nil Posted February 10, 2017 Posted February 10, 2017 Note: Flaps are only used to short take off and landing, so you do not have to use them actually. Flaps 60% Horizontal stabilizer at -70% ; "Flaps down" key ; Horizontal Stabilizer at 0% = Flaps 60% (25°) Flaps 100% Horizontal Stabilizer at -70% ; "Flaps down" key ; Horizontal Stabilizer at +70% = Flaps 100% (40°) No Flaps: Horizontal Stabilizer at -70% ; "Flaps Up" key = Flaps 0% from https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/26840-junkers-52-dc3-fan-club/
Bestmann Posted February 10, 2017 Posted February 10, 2017 Thanks for your answers. I will give it another try.
