oneeyeddog Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 I'm having an issue with my BK Gamer 2. The effect works fine in any of the IL2 menus where there is the sound of engines or explosions etc. It works as it should if I go to an exterior view, F2 for example. When I'm in the cockpit however the rumbling effect is practically nonexistent, I can feel a faint shaking if I put my hand on the Shaker itself. In the past the BK Gamer 2 has worked as it should. I've tried many different settings or combinations of settings in game or thru the Sound Blaster Control Panel but I still cant get it to work. Any suggestions, please.
GrendelsDad Posted February 4, 2017 Posted February 4, 2017 I have transducers hooked up to a separate sound card...I get a nice rumble on engines and it rocks on guns and bombs and what not. Even the fluttering of an impending stall can be detected...I also have one mounted under my Pedals which is really immersive. My point its it works well for me. How does the BK 2 hook up to your PC?
GrendelsDad Posted February 4, 2017 Posted February 4, 2017 (edited) For reference I have my amps running out of the analog front RL and the rear RL channels of my sound-card. I do have SBX pro studio surround option enabled as this gives them more punch. Also under the speaker settings make sure the Full Range Speakers box is checked as this also really amplifies the shakers. Also make sure your Sound Blaster settings are 5.1 channel. in game as well. These settings are only relevant if you have a second sound card pushing your transducer. oneeyeddog Posted February 4, 2017 Author Posted February 4, 2017 (edited) I also have a separate sound card, a Creative ReCon 3D I believe, that I installed specifically for the BK Gamer 2. What is so vexxing is the BK worked fine in this PC up until recently and even now in an exterior view, fly by or even F5 where you might be following outside a truck or tank it works as it should. But in cockpit no reaction at all even though the volume and audio seem fine, no discernable decrease in bass or anything compared to exterior views. Thanks very much for responding Grendels Dad. At least now I know that the fault probably lies with me and my equipment. I've reinstalled drivers and pretty much anything else I can think of but I'll keep trying. GrendelsDad Posted February 4, 2017 Posted February 4, 2017 (edited) I would assume you are "mirroring" the sound to come out of the second sound card through windows audio settings or the SB panel? Maybe try changing the audio on the Butt Kicker to 2 speaker or Headphone setting if its not already as well. Edited February 4, 2017 by II./ZG1_GrendelsDad
oneeyeddog Posted February 4, 2017 Author Posted February 4, 2017 I too have SBX, full range speakers, 5.1. I use Bass redirection and Subwoofer gain ( made a big difference by the way)
SCG_Tzigy Posted February 4, 2017 Posted February 4, 2017 i have 2 kickers attached to the chair, via splitter from bass signal. 5.1, on board audio it has been great/stable lately but used to drive me bonkers as randomly and occnly after major updates it would stop working... usually all good in sound panel setup/testing (both windows and Soundmax) but just would not work in the game... last few time the fix was reset all the settings in sound panels and few restarts, both win and the game (changed the sound quality few times in the game), and suddenly Voilà! still no idea what it was/is 1
oneeyeddog Posted February 5, 2017 Author Posted February 5, 2017 Well in Game I reset the Sound Quality to medium, then low, restarting the game both times as required. I now have the rumble effect back while i'm in cockpit! Oddly the effect is probably quadrupled when I go to exterior or F5 view, with no increase in sound volume, enough to cause the BK amp to clip. Is there a way to adjust ambient noise? Its working though, that's what counts and I'm fairly confidant I'll be able to iron out these little quirks. Thanks, Gentlemen, your help is appreciated. S!
