Fifi Posted January 8, 2014 Author Posted January 8, 2014 Yes, finally smooth Meow I saw this issue watching old videos btw, but now with TF4 it's different and solved.
Reflected Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 I really don't like the way SweetFX modifies the colors and brightness so I turned that part off, but it finally helped me get rid of the jaggies: 1
79_vRAF_Friendly_flyer Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 Once again thanks for the screenies Fifi, great desktop background material!
Fifi Posted January 8, 2014 Author Posted January 8, 2014 (edited) Nice shot Greg! Even colors seems nice enough to me. Once again thanks for the screenies Fifi, great desktop background material! You're welcome mate! Edited January 8, 2014 by Fifi
Picchio Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 Do the control surfaces and in cockpit controls still jump/jitter when moved or is the animation finally smooth? Mine don't animate smoothly at all. TF 4 here as well...
Reflected Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 Mine don't animate smoothly at all. TF 4 here as well... Yes, that's how the game is, it's a real shame though..
Feathered_IV Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 Very jumpy control animations here too. Though its not really much of a problem for me as I'm looking out the window most of the time. It's the disgraceful AI and broken command system that get me.
DD_bongodriver Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 I thought this AI issue was dispelled ages ago when it was found it could be tweaked in the mission editor. 2
Fifi Posted January 8, 2014 Author Posted January 8, 2014 Hm...strange. My ailerons are not jumpy...only the incockpit stick isn't as smooth as mine. Sometime gauge needles can be jumpy too, but not that often.
Feathered_IV Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 I thought this AI issue was dispelled ages ago when it was found it could be tweaked in the mission editor. Not so much unfortunately. The F-16 style rolling can be remedied, but the other foibles are still there. I think the best use of Cliffs for offliners would be flying Blenheim, Stuka or lone nightfighter campaigns if they become available. That way one can maximise the game's strengths and avoid some of the shortcomings.
Feathered_IV Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 Do us a favour chaps. Try out this modification of voice files and see if you like it. Installation instructions are inside http://www.mediafire.com/download/qycf1u619p9812c/CloD+Better+Voices.rar

Installation instructions are inside http://www.mediafire.com/download/qycf1u619p9812c/CloD+Better+Voices.rar Oh boy, a long awaited MOD! I can't wait to try it, thank you!! PS: I hope you used some files from the "Under the white rose" campaign, those were pretty good!
Bando Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 I downloaded it as well. Got a warning for this file: serw.clicksor.w32 It said it may endanger my rig and I have to call a number. Some agressive advert or something more sinister?
FuriousMeow Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 (edited) So the control column/rudder pedals aren't smooth still, or both the control surfaces and the in-cockpit controls aren't smooth? It's not a deal breaker, it's just something that is annoying. It also makes me wonder, how exactly did they accomplish that as I've never seen that before in any other title. Edited January 8, 2014 by FuriousMeow
DD_Arthur Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 The controls are still jumpy but frankly you don't notice it in the 'pit. At least I don't. What I do notice more - after flying BoS - is how lumpy the CLoD experience is and how wooden the flight models are.
Fifi Posted January 8, 2014 Author Posted January 8, 2014 So the control column/rudder pedals aren't smooth still, or both the control surfaces and the in-cockpit controls aren't smooth? It's not a deal breaker, it's just something that is annoying. It also makes me wonder, how exactly did they accomplish that as I've never seen that before in any other title. Incockpit only the stick isn't that smooth. Pedals are ok for me. Outside control surfaces are ok when i fly. They don't jump suddently. Now, plane stopped on ground, i didn't have a look yet... I wish i could upload a video for you, but it's way too long for my connection here, even for half minute video. I guess if there are some smoothness differencies between us, it could come from our computer perf differencies, or if some background program is bottlenecking the performance.
Feathered_IV Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 I downloaded it as well. Got a warning for this file: serw.clicksor.w32 It said it may endanger my rig and I have to call a number. Some agressive advert or something more sinister? Lots of ads on these free downloads hosts. With Mediafire links, always right-click the big long download button and select "save target as". The speech pack is just a bit over 10mb.
Fifi Posted January 8, 2014 Author Posted January 8, 2014 (edited) Thanks for that Feathered. Is it JSGME ready, and does it include German voices? Never mind, i found answers opening it Edited January 8, 2014 by Fifi
Bando Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 Lots of ads on these free downloads hosts. With Mediafire links, always right-click the big long download button and select "save target as". The speech pack is just a bit over 10mb. I suspected something like that. No alarm. @ Fifi: I did tell FlightFx to "register a new game", got it all working (I could see SweetFx working with the Scroll Lock button) but within 5 minutes the game crashes. When I remove SweetFx, the game does not crash. Do you have any advice?
Fifi Posted January 8, 2014 Author Posted January 8, 2014 Bando, i don't really see why your game is crashing... Mine never crashed, but it doesn't help you though. Have you Nvidias tweakings running for COD other than SweetFX? If so maybe disabling the Nvidias ones could help... Feathered, i just tried your new voices, and i like it! Specialy the female tower voice...but it could be a bit more louder, because my engine is covering it
Feathered_IV Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Yeah the voice volume is a bit bugged in game. Perhaps they deliberately hobbled the volume because the default voice was so bad. In you confuser.ini under Sound, there is a setting for speech. You can turn it up to 10, but that's about as loud as it goes I think. The speech pack is a test only at this point. Some phrases can still irritate and I'm working to sort those out. The game unfortunately only seems to have the formation leader/player uttering most of the phrases, and the trick will be creating the illusion of having the other members of a flight speaking too.
Sokol1 Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 (edited) When you think you're close enough, keep closing What your convergence? Because if you get too close pass the proper moment to shoot... Adjust the GM2 range (convergence value, in yards) and wingspan - He111 is 74 feets - in proper range one/two second burst on one engine area bring then down. Sokol1 Edited January 9, 2014 by Sokol1
Fifi Posted January 9, 2014 Author Posted January 9, 2014 Ah Sokol...was always puzzled by this convergence stuff in COD. - For both sides, is it in meters? - What is the average setting? Default one? - If i don't set the wingspan incocpit, it's not that important? (meaning convergence is still effective) I think if i pass the convergence point, bullets are still hitting but less effective on a designed area...not that easy to fire at the right distance when mouving faster than target!
Sokol1 Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 (edited) Convergence - that you set in Loadout are in meters. Range that you dial under GM2 gunsight - with mouse or assigned keys - are in yards. Wingspan that you dial under GM2 gunsight - whit mouse or assigned keys - are in foots. For example you want fire at 200 yards (182.88 meters) set 180 meters in Loadout (adjust are in 10). And when start the flight, dial 200 meters under GM2 gunsight. (In SP - QM is boring dial 200 every time you reestart, so I create a macro that set this every time I turn gunsight light ON - using the same key (L)). The wingspan you dial accord the desired target: This adjust "tell" you when you are in efective distance. Wings tips of this He111 touch gunsight horizontal bars - if central dot are aligned with fuselage - I aim for engine. This allow me down 3/4 He111 in QM with limited ammo (AP-AP-DeW-DeW-Ball-Ball). IRL "tale": 9 September.[27] McKellar attacked with the sun at his back with his Squadron, save for one Section which was left to provide top cover against Bf 109s. The attack was made head-on to break up the German bomber formation which consisted of a large mass of He 111s.[28] He destroyed three He 111s with a single, 12–second burst. The first He 111 exploded. It damaged a second which rolled over and dived down into the ground. McKellar then moved his fire to a third. Its port wing snapped off.[27] He then destroyed a Bf 109 in the afternoon giving him a fourth success.[1] Sokol1 Edited January 9, 2014 by Sokol1
Fifi Posted January 9, 2014 Author Posted January 9, 2014 (edited) Thanks Sokol! Exactly what i was looking for QM is boring dial 200 every time you reestart, so I create a macro that set this every time I turn gunsight light ON - using the same key (L)). How do you create this macro stuff? Very interested... Edited January 9, 2014 by Fifi

Here we go.: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y0Chit04b4I As I do not have pedals the joystick had to do the trick with the rudders. Please do not tell anyone that I invested some time to make such an irrelevant video! 2
Fifi Posted January 9, 2014 Author Posted January 9, 2014 (edited) Hey thanks DUI! Your video show pretty well what i get here. No jumpy controls and surfaces as before patch. Not as smooth as in BOS or ROF, but still VERY acceptable. Time for a little swim?: (we can see the bomber whose gunner got me bad, hidding among clouds up above my tail) Edited January 9, 2014 by Fifi
JG4_DUI Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Time for a little swim? I am very sure that there is the Cliffs of Dover right behind the clouds. Just some hundreds meter away...
Sokol1 Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 How do you create this macro stuff? Since I dont use "High End" HOTAS (with advanced programing software) I need a external keymapper. I use NewView, a Russian program to emulate TrackIR with joystick HAT and include keymapper, with the feature that allow program key press in keys/buttons (other keymappers/joystick software generally map key press only in joystick buttons): In CloD Keys GUI (the best I see in WWII sim* ) I map + and - to "Increase/Decrease Gunsight Ilumination" (in Spit/Hurri this just turn gunsight light ON/OFF). In NewView I create two macros, one that press * and other that press / and repeat 15 times (for "set range" in 400 and for "reset range" to default 600). Then, in NewView I set the same + and - (that turn gunsight light ON/OF in game) to press * and /. In game, gunsight light ON = range is dial to 250 yards (230 meters in convergence) Gunsigth light OFF = range is dial back to 600 (default value ) - this is need to maitain the sequence. I think with T.A.R.G.E.T, CH Mannager... you can do the same thing, using josytick keys/HAT. * Allow make copy of commands, use keys (others than Alt, Ctrl, Shift) as moddifier , use the same key to simultaneous execute different functions (if in different category). Fifi Posted January 9, 2014 Author Posted January 9, 2014 Beautiful screen Busso Keep them coming! Thanks again Sokol for your explanations. I could use Target for it, i just have to figure out how because it's not that intuitive use for me. I tried once and i quickly gave up
JG4_DUI Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Beautiful colors and lightning and taken from an interesting angle!
Fifi Posted January 10, 2014 Author Posted January 10, 2014 Yeah! Busso, are you using any sweetfx? Are those screens photoshoped?
Fifi Posted January 10, 2014 Author Posted January 10, 2014 No photoshop, just SweetFX. Have to say it's great fun playing around with different settings. Cliffs of Dover is just amazing with the TF patch and now we also have BoS. Good times. +1 Would you mind share your SweetFX settings text file, please?

Fifi Posted January 10, 2014 Author Posted January 10, 2014 Sokol, i think i'll need you again I've downloaded the swatiska enabler here http://theairtacticalassaultgroup.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2580 but it seems it doesn't work with TF4... What am i doing wrong? I pointed the default game path
Fifi Posted January 11, 2014 Author Posted January 11, 2014 Never mind Sokol...sorted out! Was missing paintscheme and parts folders that goes with it... Germans are more historical now Screen taken using Busso SweetFX settings by the way...very nice settings, i love it. 1
ST_ami7b5 Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 Somehow SweetFX doesn't work for my Clod TF installation (under Steam)... Tried both SweetFX & FlightFX. All the files are there, I have set split screen and vignette to check it, but it doesn't work. No problems in RoF and BoS.
Feathered_IV Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 There is a new SweetFX 1.5 for 64bit games. Try a google search for it and give that a go.
