I was afraid that after official support died that even with the community and TF that CLoD would die  in a year or so .....gladly I am wrong, with the TF patch I just installed the game is.....awesome!

I would have to agree, cut it back by %50 during the day but leave at %100 for night. Was that a battleship I saw at the end of the video?

It's really more photorealistic now, with that bright green.  Here some real aerial photo in northen france "cap gris nez":

http://www.photo-paramoteur.com/photographies-aeriennes/picardie-nord-pas-de-calais/index_4.html

Those linked pictures (while lovely) are taken with a polarizing filter over the lens, and perhaps photoshoped as well for colour vibrancy.  Also many are not captured from altitude, and those that are are early morning, or evening (long shadows).  Look up aerial perspective and its effect on colour.   The TF "progress" shots are generally over-saturated, but likely could be corrected with in-game gamma setting.

Aerial perspective or atmospheric perspective refers to the effect the atmosphere has on the appearance of an object as it is viewed from a distance. As the distance between an object and a viewer increases, the contrast between the object and its background decreases, and the contrast of any markings or details within the object also decreases. The colours of the object also become less saturated and shift towards the background color, which is usually blue, but under some conditions may be some other color (for example, at sunrise or sunset distant colors may shift towards red).

Emphasis mine...

have a look an Aerofly Fs :

same oversaturate green but looks so photorealistic. what's a pity their FM seems like RC planes.

http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/3695262/Re_Random_Aerofly_FS.html

but you're true, with a reflex true camera, shot are quite less saturated like in real life.  only cheap and small  camera over sature colours. So people used to feel "it looks more real" as it is not.

Also note, TF5 will be all about a new Theatre:

http://theairtacticalassaultgroup.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13358&page=2

<<< TF is building various map-making tool(s) (for in-house use) which are (right now) being used to construct the new theatre. TF5.0 *will* be all about the new theatre. There is a great deal of content already made or under construction for the new theatre that we can't show because it would disclose the theatre which we do not wish to do at this time. We want to present an integrated package that includes appropriate aircraft, ships, static objects, buildings, vehicles, armour, signage & much more ... etc. >>>

TF5 will be a very exciting update to Cliffs of Dover!

If you like bright green ...

England is exceptionally green during the summer.

As a resident of Nottinghamshire, I can assuredly tell you that this new update looks so much more like the England I love during the summer!

The summer of 1940 was unusually hot and dry, but the new work certainly looks a lot like the rainy England I've flown over a few times.

I love this game again! I cant wait for the next map!!!

Never thought that something like this is possible!

Thank you Team Fusion!!!

For all that great stuff they do, I think the default coloration looks more realistic...

I've shared the video with quite a few folk now. Every one from England has commented on the accuracy of the colours, including a chap who lives in Sussex!

Add another to the list, I see it from the air quite a lot too.

S!

Just makes it painstakingly clear that the terrain tiles are copy/paste and very repetitive :( Otherwise top notch! :salute:

I work in farming in kent, colours much much better, awesome update to the map.

I think its great.  I think the colours are more correct.  As has been said above, if you're flying into Britain the first impression is how green everything is.

I particularly like the way field sizes have been reduced.  Pre-war farming lacked modern,  powerful tractors and equipment and agriculture - especially in Kent and Sussex - still reflected field patterns put down in the early eighteenth century.

Good job. :salute:

Can see this really well on google earth. Certainly around the manston area it gives you an option to scroll back to 1940 and you can see the differnce in field size very clearly, sent from my phone in a field somewhere in kent....

Looks great, they are doing a good job (as usual) :)

Could do with a little variation in the tree foliage colouration... all trees are not coloured identically in the UK!

I really think you are out of your depth with some of your answers, and understanding of peripheral vision, and how flight gauges are designed to be used by glancing at and not focusing on them.

You are correct, Dakpilot.

IRL, you could not track bandits and focus on gauges.

Fighter pilots had to manage the aircraft and the enemy.

Finally!!

Been hoping for them to sort the colours out for a long time.

As others have said the new implementation IS much more accurate. Previous looked like polaroid sunglasses.

Once I get a new video card will give CLOD another try.

next..... hedgerows :-)

What card you using? Before I switched out my old 560 CLoD still ran great on it. The TF patches have it rock solid as as performance goes.

Unfortunately still using a gtx260  :-)

Plan to get one of the new nVidia cards in the near future.

Looks very good.  Much more realistic than previous textures.

Yes, and the colour palette seems similar to the EDGE Normandy map that Luthier showed in a KS video.

Random location in southern England via google earth in what I would guess would be later April to early May.

Very good. The real life forest certainly appears darker than the wip however. Hopefully they look into that
