I got new interesting problem... when I join server and hit "create" I am at airfield, like I should, it just that I have two grey boxes on my screen that I can't get rid off... it's this "new info box" or something like that, just that they are light grey and there is no info in them and I can't find any way to close them. Anyone has any ideas how to deal with this?

Press F10 to get the cursor. Then hold down ALT and left click the box. You get options to close it and such.

Thanks, I'll try that when I get home.

The explosions when the aircraft impact with the ground are very nicely done.

Lot of work done without source code, which is quite impressive. I just wish the stupendous radiator modelling would change. Now it is like: If coolant = 101'C then punctured radiator. Bf109 had a pressure valve telling pilot when coolant was getting too hot and relieved excess pressure. Engine could be cooled down, not just instabreak the cooling system if exceeding temperature with a degree or two. Also the roll rate of Bf109 is odd. It was similar to Spitfire with canvas covered ailerons and those were used during BoB on Spits. Now it feels the Spit has the metal covered ones way ahead of time. Nevertheless flown a bit on ATAG, even without TrackIR :)

I'm really getting back into CoD. Been flying the Blenheim IV on various daring bombing missions....

I am feeling very pleased with sim life....CoD for the summer and BoS for the winter. CoD just seems more appropriate when it's been sunny all day!

I still haven't ventured on line. The bottom cannibalism doesn't feel very attractive to me.

hi sallee.

You should try online atag server, the mission i prefer is the LE HAVRE automn mission.

It's a pleasure when you are at 15000 feets over targets and over clouds to meet enemy bombers and their escort !

It's less a pleasure to be vulched on your own airfield as you warm your motor. But anayway it's not unrealistic.Such things much have happened in real war.

Nice targets for bombers in those online missions. don't forget on TS or chat  guys for an escort !

;-)

:salute:

I might just do that!

Et le "chat".. c'est en francais?

Je plaisante.....naturellement....rien que l'anglais dans le RAF old boy.

Thanks Sokol. I'll have a look at that.

Btw, what's the deal with clouds in CloD? I have them popping in and out, is this bug/feature in game, or is the problem at my end? It's nothing I couldn't live with, but if there is something I can do with my settings, then all the better.

from 4.00 readme,

* Clouds drawing distance has been increased 3x

Note: To enable extended clouds distance, add "ExtendCloudsDistance=yes" under the "[MOD]" section on the "confuser.ini" file.

Example:

[MOD]
GameLanguage=Russian
UseOldHumans=Yes
ExtendCloudsDistance=yes

helps alot.

I flew with the ACG guys today, as a guest in their weekly campaign mission. With the 4./JG26, 1st Schwarm, as the Rottenführer's wingman. Had a lot of fun. A good group of sim types over there!

Guys, if you enjoy flying for the RAF in Cliffs of Dover TF4, and you have not tried it yet, I heartily recommend the three RAF campaigns for TF4 Huninthesun campaigns he updated for TF4.

In consists of three campaigns, two Hurri campaigns and a Spit campaign. I have flow the first Hurri campaign, and am on the second one now - I believe it is around a 36 mission campaign and it is superb!

Just finished a mission over the Chanel going after some Sukas.

In a dive above them, their dive sirens going off, my aircraft shaking as it gets close to overspeed:

A flaming Stuka I just pumped some lead into:

Starting the long journey home to Croyden:

Safe back at home base with another successful sortie and great way to end the day.

Anyway I am having an absolute blast with some of the great user made campaigns some of these guys are doing for Cliffs of Dover TF4.

If you have a love for SP and offline campaigns, there are some great ones out there over at Airwarfare, For the ones I mentioned just look for offline campaigns by Huninthesun, he has these three for TF4 bundled together in one download.

The quality of CloD is AMAZING! Hope the TF´s guys could make the new scenarios and planes they planned.

With proper Oculus Rift support and more upcoming tweaks from Team Fusion this game could and would be among the best. I have flown a bit on ATAG now and then, but not so fluid as lacking TrackIR at the moment so using POV. Nevertheless quite a challenge and even fun.

Nothing like a little Dornier hunting on a lazy Saturday afternoon:

Can't find an actual download link for Huninthesun's campaign.  Just install instructions: http://airwarfare.com/sow/index.php/forumsocial/26-campaigns-missions-w-i-p-and-latest-releases/1403-tf-mod-and-huninthesun-campaigns-missions

I don't see it in the downloads section.

Here ya go, all three campaigns updated for TF 4.3

Also link to his thread on ATAG, he has a couple of mission patches for them posted there...

Hi db I have download the team fusion patch but i can't find THAT campaign, I like the visuals but for someone new like me, I can't find any tutorial on how to play. I've been trying many times but apart from taking i have no idea what to do or where to go. There is a guy on the radio who keep saying acorn something like that with the British accent, that the only thing I understand.

Everyone his raving about the TF mod's but I can't even understand the blur map.

Hi Decibel,

I suggest you start here at the Beginners Guide thread for Cliffs of Dover over at the ATAG forums.

http://theairtacticalassaultgroup.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5058&p=52711

If you are interested and really want to learn Cliffs, I suggest signing up on the forum and ask away for any assistance, there are a lot of really helpful guys over there.

A great first campaign for a beginner to Cliffs to try would be the RAF REDUX campaign by Heinkill - it basically modifies the stock RAF campaign that came with Cliffs into something really, really good.

It may seem a little overwhelming at first when you start getting into it, but it is not as difficult as it may seem. A lot of really good information is in that Beginners Guide thread!

Hi Don, I did install all the TF Mods with the help of folk in ATAG forum, but still find very difficult to find info on the game in itself. Since it's a simulator to the extreme, you event have some obscure switch that i need to turn on ect. I was expecting to do the campaign to learn about them but no. Even the color of the enemy are blue instead of red, the map is very difficult to read (Low Res) and I can't figure what are my objective. I'll give it another try where I download the RAF REDUX campaign by Heinkill that you are talking about.

Don't get me wrong I love those sim game, and very eager to learn CoD but the campaign that i've tried i didn't learn much about how it is played.

Respectfully  dB

Since it's a simulator to the extreme, you event have some obscure switch that i need to turn on ect.

There's a lot of exaggeration and myth in CloD "complexity"*, for example a Spitfire only require one control more than the in il-2:46 to started, the fuel cock.

* This myth is because at "release" the things dont work because are "broken", not complex.

For example, at time, due "bugs/errors..."  was virtually impossible to do cold start and take off with Blenheim without damagin engines. Now you do this in "a minute". :)

Pic a plane, Hurricane, Spit... and learn operate and fly then - look at TF Wiki parameters, although not perfect, is the best source of information, and the people in ATAG forum.
