von_Tom Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 I assume that to use a 4k skin you just put it int he relevant folder, and everyone else has to have it in order to see it - like normal. Is this correct? For the new bump maps, is it the same principle so everyone has to have it for the new bump map to be seen? Thanks von Tom
ICDP Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 The new bumpmaps are most likely the same as the other skins. You will see 4k bumpmaps for any aircraft you have it enabled on, everyone else will see whatever version they have installed regardless of yours..
=TBAS=Sshadow14 Posted February 4, 2017 Posted February 4, 2017 Other players from more than 10ft from your plane will barely be able to see the bump map let alone notice the difference
ICDP Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 Other players from more than 10ft from your plane will barely be able to see the bump map let alone notice the difference Agreed, but it's not about what the other player sees, it's about what you see from your cockpit. This is where 4k skins and normal maps can make a big difference. 1
SCG_Space_Ghost Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 Agreed, but it's not about what the other player sees, it's about what you see from your cockpit. This is where 4k skins and normal maps can make a big difference. An astute illustration of the gains achieved by yours and others work!
BOO Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 I doubted the point of bitmaps but the difference is not only very noticeable its also very realistic- This said ive only tried ICDPs so far and, as we know, his work is superb.
