Thad Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 I've spent about 10-15 minutes flying around the Bf110G-2 and I'm really a fan. I was already a fan with the E-2 model but the two definitely have a different character about them. While the E-2 feels a bit heavy and you have to coax it through some maneuvers, I feel the G-2 has all that extra engine power which you can really feel. Its by no means a competitive dogfighter but this is definitely going to be more of an effective attack plane and a bomber hunter with the extra speed (I presume) and power from the engines. It does feel like a bit more of a beast on the ground though. Oh... and I also experienced all of my guns going dead with a single hit. Cannons, machine guns, everything. Something must be amiss there. Salutations, This gun problem seems to be a real 'bug'. i'm posting it just because i think it's funny. i wanted to test the angles of the rear gunner and thought i'm gonna finish by shooting my tail and see how she handles with damage...turns out shooting the tail with my own gunner took out all my weapons except for one MG 17 :D Gun damage is obviously bugged.
Finkeren Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 Gun damage is obviously bugged. Not gun damage overall, but the DM of the Bf 110G2s weapons seems to be screwed up.
Scojo Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 The only problem with this bird is, that it has made flying the Bf 110E completely redundant. There is absolutely no reason the fly it, if the G2 is available, unless if you absolutely insist of trying to fly it as a fighter I guess. Well this will naturally happen to some planes as the timeline progresses. This is a Sim though, so if you want to fly something at an earlier time period (i.e. before the G-2's maiden flight), you have reason to use the E-2
JaffaCake Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 I constantly get pilot sniped by the Pe-2 gunners flown by AI or not. Not sure what is going on there. Mostly at medium range and ~0.5 seconds after the gunner "spins up"

It does seem a little worse in the 110 because of the all guns being knocked out at once issue.
Sunde Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 I am yet to take damage in the 110 G2, without also loosing my guns I really hope they can work a hotfix in for this one. 1
Blutaar Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 Iam sure this will get fixed, the only question is when but i think it will be soon.
Dutchvdm Posted February 6, 2017 Posted February 6, 2017 Hi Guys, I did some testing this weekend and i like it a lot. It's way more powerful then the E-2, and a very very stable gun platform. Some other things a noticed. - Due to the lighter controls i sometimes pull the plane in a stall. More often then with the E model. - The engines are more prone to overheating. Radiator control is more strict i feel. And two gripes i have... - Taxiing the G2 is way more difficult then with the E model. With the latter i would just put 20% more power on engine 1 and turning with brakes is no problem. This does not seem to work with the G2. Any ideas? - During combat and heavy turning the engine RPM spikes up and down even at combat power. Is this as intended? Thnx Grtz M
6./ZG26_Klaus_Mann Posted February 6, 2017 Posted February 6, 2017 Due to the lighter controls i sometimes pull the plane in a stall. More often then with the E model. It's also just that it is a Good Deal Heavier with more Wingloading.
Scojo Posted February 6, 2017 Posted February 6, 2017 - During combat and heavy turning the engine RPM spikes up and down even at combat power. Is this as intended? I flew several sorties in the G-2 this past Friday and didn't notice this. Can you describe it in detail? When moving the engines from continuous to combat power to full power, there's a dramatic engine sound change, so I think that may be what you're referring to. The engine isn't actually spiking in power, the audio just seems a bit weird for the engines. Also, it occasionally happened within the combat power range

That's true, but i have a feeling it's somehow more noticeable because of the lighter controls. Not a real issue, just something to keep in mind. Hard to explain i think. Grt M
