BigPickle Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 Hi all just got Track IR 5 not convinced it will be as good a people have made out, whats your opinoins and whats the best way to set it up?
Sim Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 (edited) I am not a huge fan of dead zones - and I think the default profile has them. Create a new profile, apply "smooth" curves to pitch and yaw axes. Use "one:one" for roll/X/Y/Z. It also depend on your sitting distance to monitor. Basically, I doubt the default profile will be good out of the box, best to tweak everything to your liking. Also, it takes a bit of time to get used to, so don't give up just yet Edit: And since BoS is not yet on the supported games list - I think you will need to mark your custom profile as "exclusive" so it's used in game. ST_Pirato Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 You can mark it as "Exclusive" or chose Rise of Flight from the "Titles" list so your profile starts automaticly with the title. Atleast it worked when I tried BoS first. But since then 1 Update has been made to BoS,so not sure about it.

I had to do that for DCS, but after i got it setup, it has been worth every single penny
JaMz Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 not convinced it will be as good a people have made out Cant wait to see how this turns out 1
DD_Crash Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 Watch this for help setting it up He talks about A-10C but the way of setting it up is the same for all games.

thx1138 Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 awesome thanks for the tips, roll on Saturday when its delivered Once you get it set to your liking and use it you will never doubt it for a minute ! My TrackIr is still going strong after almost 10 years.
-MG-Cacti4-6 Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 Best 'toy' i've ever bought. boy thats a tough call to make, I love my warthog...making a decision between which toy is better...no...just no
DD_fruitbat Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 (edited) lol, I wouldn't swap my ms ffb2 for a wharthog on any day that ends in a y........ But i'd still play flight sims with one if i had to. However, if my track itr died i would buy another one at that moment, and wouldn't bother flying again until it arrived ( on next day delivery of course!) Edited December 5, 2013 by fruitbat
dburne Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 Yep best thing you can do, is learn about making, and adjusting your own profiles. There is so much one can do to adjust to their liking. The manual is a good place to start ( you can download it while waiting), as well as that video that was linked to above. And yes, it is as good as people have made it out to be. Granted there are a few, that just do not get acclimated to it, but these are very few and far between.
VR-DriftaholiC Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 I like smoothe profile and smoothing to 5
Wolger Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 I use Smooth and tick the Exclusive checkbox for ALL games. Lazy to tinker around. It's simply the best out there and better than other free solutions. Didn't encounter a single problem but feel the Trackclip Pro is damn flimsy in build quality. 1

I dont wanna wear a hat while i'm playing a game, but the clip doesnt quite secure to my headphones properly, like its a hair to small or large for logitech g35 headphones. I may try to shim the clip out to fix the play, but breaking it would suck bad lol
[Wolf]ArcaneRebel Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 Hi all just got Track IR 5 not convinced it will be as good a people have made out, whats your opinoins and whats the best way to set it up? Trust me it takes some time to get fully used to, but the benefits are vast. It's made me a better combat pilot tenfold. The better your situational awareness the better your chances are of staying alive. I too use the smooth profile. Seems fairly natural to me. I haven't done any tweaking to it although it could use a little bit... but I'm content really.
dburne Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 Also Requiem has a nice profile that is a good starting point, over on the Rise of Flight forums.
SeaW0lf Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 Best 'toy' i've ever bought. I agree that TrackIR was the biggest breakthrough that I had in games by miles! Now, when I see gaming footage, I turn my head and expect the image to follow! Other than that, OR might replace it down the road. I'll be prepared
