Outstanding! Can't wait to see what you make!

Posted (edited)

Me too, hope you all like it. I'll be adding a 'Euro-Safe' Hakenkreuz layer to it as well a historical layer.

bzc3lk is correct legally and what I meant was using the 1C modified Hakenkreuz for my European pilot brothers.

======  The template is coming along excellent. I am replacing the entire 'Airplane Parts' layer with completely new textures that are much higher resolution. Then I will work on panel lines and rivets, fasteners, cam-locks ect.

I will include two sample skins with my release. Don't expect something in a day though guys. I have a full time job, family and school. I almost didn't have school but I was wait listed on a class I really needed and I am actually two weeks behind due to when they called me. I should catch up soon. My goal is to have it out by the end of February.  ======

NEW Default Summer and Winter variants. Can't promise 1C will implement though.

Just waiting for the G-2 template to hit so I can see how the artist arranged the components. I imagine it will somewhat different than the E-2 having the GK 3.7 Gondola.

Is this project dead?

If so, you should really let another one of the template contributors know.

No it is not dead. I cannot tell you why it has not been updated. But the reason was for all of you. Been doing work for Jason.

i think the bumb maps are saved under data/graphics/planes/planename/textures

Okay progress preview will come tomorrow evening. It's coming along nicely. There is a service port that needs correction. And now that I have been led to the bump map, I can do this. In fact I can now add other details to the skin that I could not beforehand. I am also in the process of deleting all the bump data for the rivets. They look like stitching rather that fasteners. So the skin will be done first but the bump will take some time. I really hope you all like it when I release it.

Progress update 1. I'm going rivet by rivet and panel by panel just as the plane is built.

Image in post #1 updated.

This is a time consuming process. You may ask why is this guy texturing the metal and fabric that no one will see? I will tell you, it is because my name is going on it. I do not do mediocre work. It will also be beneficial to all Skinner's because now they will be able to decide how deep a scratch goes into the paint. Do they want it to go into the primer, below the first cote of paint or all the way down to the metal. I wan this template to be the Sistine Chapel of templates. I am even going to add the manufacturer logo's on the tires (tyres). I am also adjusting the alpha so that what is not supposed to shinny isn't.

Yes I know. And yes I am very busy. I haven't even flown in a month. I do most of my work on the weekends concerning stuff like this. I will be out of state this weekend. I will have more progress if not done by May 14th or 15th.

I also didn't tell you guys but I have told Jason; I had to start over. But it will be done and before May is done. I am trying to find out what color the primer was on the aircraft. I want to include all paint layers. This is for weathering the plane when you get it. You be able to determine how deep a scratch is or rub-offs are. For this template I will only throw some light grime on it. I haven't seen a severely weathered 110 in any real photos yet. Maybe on the winter planes yes because they used that temporary 'Wasserhell' paint. Plus I am positioning like 1000 rivets LOL. No promises, but I will try and work the alpha so you can make a Bf-110G-3 with the ESK-2000 Camera.

Okay in about two hours I will be Oregon bound.

See you all later!

Awesome work! This is what I still want to do with the MiG-3. However, with my wife getting out of the army and us planning our future I haven't been able to work on it for a few months. That is my same goal though to make the most realistic details as possible.
