BladeMeister Posted March 21 Posted March 21 Nice pics Ade. Your hidden pics are not showing up though, as far as I can see. S!Blade<>< 1
sevenless Posted April 8 Posted April 8 Love it! Really looks like a painting by an aviation artist. https://www.wings-fine-arts.com/collections/the-spitfire-of-the-raf-fighter-art?srsltid=AfmBOormWuA_4MFPrRqvd-3Rt3A_n8ZKs4mQxOEN2fz7a6entU8Zl3Gp 2
BaglanBoy Posted April 17 Posted April 17 Hi All, I came across the flight sim " Wings over the Reich " recently and would like to know if anyone has had experience of the sim and would it be worth the $20 purchase for the basic game, I should imagine that it may be up against some stiff opposition with BoS being the holy grail of combat flight simulations. So would appreciate some honest advice. Cheers

S!Blade<>< Yeah not sure what happened Drew it was of the 109,s (I'm assuming the Hakenkreuz still cannot be displayed on any aircraft on the forum?)
BaglanBoy Posted April 19 Posted April 19 Just an other bit of information before I purchase Wings over the Reich, I just need to know if it only comes as a digital download and not a CD through the post. I ask this question because in the information that I have to fill in prior to purchase they ask is the postal address the same as the delivery address ! Cheers

Hopefully you like the sim. I didn't mostly because of poor performance and how it looked. Both because of the old engine it uses.
BaglanBoy Posted April 19 Posted April 19 Thanks Remontti, When you say poor performance, in what way ? do you mean a low end computer problem or is the sim itself, with poor graphics display. I have flown BoS for years and it is without doubt the combat flight simulation by which all others are judged. Again thank you for the advice

Again thank you for the advice I mean my fps was in range of 40-60 while in BoS it never drops below 100 (that's my monitors refresh rate). It was not unplayable but of course I was expecting that my computer would run an older game flawlessly. I don't know if the game just didn't like my hardware but I think it was mentioned somewhere as a common issue. Not 100% sure about the last statement. Another very disturbing issue for me was the terrains draw distance and the fog used to mask the short draw distance.
Bluntmann Posted August 3 Posted August 3 I do like this sim but they need to optimize this so badly. My specs are way over the requirements and I'm getting 40fps on potato settings? I realize it's only a handful of folks at OBD working on this. I appreciate the add-on of the Battle of France but please optimize it. I don't have this issue with Flanders Field by the way on maxed settings.

I am not calling you out on this, but this statement alone should tell you something is wrong with your install, in game settings or you rig's system and/or GPU settings. Inguire on SimHQ and Pol and the old farts over there will help you sort it. Good luck and yes you are correct, WOTR as well as WOFFOTT are great sims in there own little niche. S!Blade<>< 1
Bluntmann Posted August 3 Posted August 3 Thanks Blade, I did check my install, reinstalled same issue, I'll head over to SimHQ and reach out. Again thanks! S! 1
Bluntmann Posted August 5 Posted August 5 Happy to say I'm averaging 75fps now, just had to tweak a few things on my end. I really do like this sim.

Have fun with WOTR. Here is a story I wrote back in the day when I was really into WOTR and a tester for OBD. unfortunately I have never finished it but maybe someday I will. Check it out you might enjoy it. Almost all pics are from WOTR and all historical elements are based on fact although some adjustments were made to fit the time period and story.
