Does DX11 = increase in server numbers?

Hello all, apologies if this has been asked and answered but I know very, very little as far as multiplayer servers go.

DX11 has given an incredible increase in performance as I'm sure all here are aware.

With that better performance is it possible to increase the max players in server?

As a member of the Air Combat Group who currently plays CoD if be excited to see our group able to add BoX to our sim selection, and to bring our numbers to expanding BoX multiplayer, but we need to be able to host for a couple of hundered pilots (we have between 150 and 200 pilots off the top of my head). Unless that's an option we'll never be able to really use the BoX platform.

Dx11 is not solution to problem which are you asking about.

Well that's a shame, it's of zero use to us then.

Guess we'll stick to CoD

The server program may be upgraded to multicore at the end of 2017, beginning of 2018. But its still a ways off. The team has done testing on it, results look promising, but its not slated until after kuban is finished due to tight deadlines.

Dots i don't assume all ACG members have bought BOS and ACG wants to drop Clod for Bos? Any way Clod is also to small for that kind of great community - we were flying in 3 groups separated by time. Why not try small and if necessary split community like in Clod.

Btw Meybe you don't know that Devs will add Air marshal mode that would help command flights and will release some API to be used by externall apps.

 

I just want to say you are welcome, and for sure some only Bos community would like to join, but now with source code and new upcoming theatres Cod community can't complain about lack of things to wait for :)

Oh no I can't speak for ACG as a whole, I merely asked Dickie if it was being considered and he asked if the server allowed more pilots yet, thus my post here.

Until such time I don't think ACG high command will even consider it. Hey know what they need.

 

Of course thanks for answering my question, it's appreciated! Now we anxiously await North Africa!

When I was with the 4th Staffel there was plenty of interest in BOX and it was merely a matter of organizing flights.

 

You could spend the rest of your combat sim days looking for reasons not to fly the sim... or you could spend some time organizing with your Staffeln-mates and enjoying BOX for what it is.

Hey now no need to make unfounded assumptions-I do still play BoX offline.

My request was merely for information that I could take to ACG command as a petition to incorporate BoX into our campaign. The question was answered and based on it I do not have the standing to make such a petition.

That's it, no more no less. I'm not casting an evil eye on the sim or finding a reason not to play it, I was trying to find a reason to get more people to play it.
