Salutations,

I need to know 'in detail' how to exactly set ports forward in a ARRIS SURFboard SBG65808 Wireless Cable Modem Gateway.

I have been able to successfully set up a server on the Master server... but apparently nobody can connect to it. #10019 error message.

Oh, I can connect to my server just fine.

ANY assistance would be appreciated. I've been experimenting for days already. No success.

Just curious why you are setting up on a wireless (gaming in general needs a CLEAN fast high bandwidth low ping connection (this does not = Wireless)

I'm not using the wireless connectivity part of the modem. My computer is directly connected to the cable modem.

Try googling <your router model number> + "port forwarding".

https://portforward.com/router.htm

Has a whole list of routers to choose from and offers screenshots for each of them

Bear in mind there may be small differences with newer versions of software etc. but should give you a great head-start.

I purchased their software. No success with it. Their online advisors have been no help either.

I'm beginning to think it is my Turner service provider that is limiting things. I can't access their router to port forward. I do not have the user name or password. I may just be out of luck. :(

usually routers have the default admin login info printed on the side/bottom label where the serial number and mac address are

you can access the router menu by typing in your default gateway ip onto your browser

open cmd, and type in ipconfig to check your default gateway - it is not always the standard 192.168.0.0 address - so make sure you check it out

port forwarding options are sometimes found under "firewall" in those menus - be sure to look around when you're in

if the login has been changed, you should still be able to "factory reset" it by pushing that little stick-a-pointy-object button, or whatever kinda button yours has to do that  (though this may screw up your ISP settings - so be careful there, or it can be a lot of headache)

Sounds like he is using one of those "all in one" combination router and modem things that ISPs like to supply.

Sometimes the login is your customer ID, etc.

Thanks for the responses... I've still had no success, but I will keep trying.

I did find a video showing how to completely turn off the 'router' part of my modem.

I can't access their router to port forward.

How do you change your wifi password, then?

I don't have my wifi set up. I'm not using wifi.

Salutations,

Can anyone give me a the meaning of the the #10019 Error message in relation to server connection problems. I have been attempting to run a server. I can get it on the master server successfully and can join it myself, but others cannot connect and receive the 10019 error message.

Did you check this page and use the username/password listed 1/3 of the way down? Also see the information in the grey box just below the username/password listed.

Re. your question on the 10019 error code, I don't know what it is, but I suspect that it's related to your problem with forwarding the ports.

First, I am unable to tell you the meaning of error code 10019.

I had the same problem for over 3 months but finally solved it today.

Able to join with an internal client, but non of my Sqd mates nor a myself with laptop on a 4G modem could  join.

Setup:

DServer

- Hardware: Intel E8400, 8GB  Ram, 80GB SSD

- OS: Windows 2012R2 Server

Firewall

Netgear R7000 Nighthawn with Tomato firewall software (modded from the original).

Both Tomato Firewall and Negears own software would not let traffic through port 28000 and 28100.

I installed Tomato in order to get more control but the result was the same as with the original Netgear software.

My problem was solved when I disabled all portforwarding on 28000 and 28100 and,

enabled DMZ  for Dserver.

The problem IS the firewall or its config (e.i. me ;-) )

I am still working on that part as I am not comfortable with having DMZ enabled.
