Trouble recording IL-2 with nVidia Shadowplay

Hi folks,

 

Before the last patch I did a bunch of video recording with nVidia Shadowplay and that seemed to work brilliantly. A few weeks later I was going to try and do some more and I'm having some challenges all of the sudden.

 

First, Shadowplay itself works just fine. I recorded a bit of Battlefield 1 with no issues and I can record my Windows desktop just fine. It's the intersection with IL-2 that seems to be the issue.

 

Here are my issues:

 

1) My key binding, Alt + Insert, doesn't seem to engage the recording. I set this to avoid other keybindings in IL-2. It used to work fine so I thought it was ok.

2) Alt + Z does bring up the share window. From there I can use Alt + Insert or I can press the Recording button and the recording begins, however, that also seems to show me my Windows 10 mouse cursor on the screen. It doesn't go away and its not even in the same spot as the mouse cursor (when visible) in IL-2.

 

I'm scratching my head at the moment.

 

One change I did make... I turned off Vsync. Does it need to be on in peoples experience?

ShadowPlay isn't great when running a game in Windowed mode.

It works far better when running Full screen.

 

FWIW I run BOS in full screen with no adverse effects.

I'll try full screen mode and see what happens. Hadn't thought of that! Thanks!

I'm not sure if it was the full screen mode (though it seems to make no difference) but the problem seems to have been the key that I picked. I switched to another hotkey and now it just works.
