First disclaimer, I am new here (Purchased IL-2 BOS earlier today) so I hope you can excuse and un-needed frustration I might "expel". Anyways, after downloading IL-2 (never got over 1 mb/s until I restarted the launcher several times), I hastily opened IL-2, I was very excited to play the newest IL-2 after logging many hours in IL-2: 1946 as a kid. However, upon entering my login details, a few seconds pass before an error message saying I temporarily lost connection to the Master server, I am assuming the error code is "#2". As I understand it, this is an issue for several people but no threads I have seen provide a definite answer. I put in a support ticket several hours ago but have not had a response. This connection issue wouldn't be an issue if I could simply play offline mode. But I cannot. Because I have yet to successfully login. Does anyone have an explanation for this error or any sort of fix?

did you just try once?

i get this often if i am lagging the internet while connecting (reading forum/facebook watching the tube)
Just retry and make sure nothing or NOBODY else in the house using internet.

This game very sensitive to Bandwidth and ping spikes.

I have tried it several times throughout this afternoon. I'll try closing other applications that use the internet and I'll get back to you

Just tried your suggestion, did not work. Closed all other applications that use the internet, the only other thing on this internet could be my dad's computer though it should be off and even if it isn't, it would be idling on the homescreen. On a sidenote, BOS has been out for some time now, why haven't the developers fixed the internet sensitivity or the mystery error I am receiving? Surely they see that having to make sure nobody else is on the internet is not very convenient.

I really would like to play the game but if I am unable to within the next few days I might have to refund it.

Update: Still won't work. I am growing increasingly angry with this. I have tried connecting to Wi-Fi and that will not work. I am only receiving a "Connection to the Master-Server was temporarily lost" message. I cannot believe that the devs would knowingly have this problem and not resolve it. It is obliviously not an issue on my end as I connect to other services like War Thunder just fine. I wouldn't be having this issue if they had not decided to force you to go online at least once. At least I would actually be able to play even if it was offline mode. TL;DR: Still unable to play the game, I feel like my money was stolen.

Have you contacted support?

https://il2sturmovik.com/support/

although this weekend is Christmas holidays in Moscow, a support ticket should get a response during the week

In the meantime you could try deleting the contents of updates folder and re-launch

and have a look at these

Before authorizing:
check the settings of the Security (antivirus, firewall, UAC ...) Make sure that they are not blocking the exchange of data with the server
- make sure that the update is successfully completed
make sure you have Administrator privileges for your Windows account

make all the game ports in the exceptions your router and security tools
Authorization requires ports 80 and 443.
Multiplayer mode uses TCP – 28000, UDP – 28000,
Downloader Port (TCP) – 28100.
- try to use direct cable connection to PC
- perhaps it makes sense to update the router firmware

Firewall is not blocking it, I have checked it and even made special settings allowing it through. Just deleting the updates contents. I am connected via a ethernet cable. Every single game I have ever played with the exception of this game, I have been able to play with no issues. It is ridiculous that this has been such an issue. I am quickly regretting buying this.

I just fail to see how a company can charge money for a product that doesn't work. I'm not the only one with this issue, this game has been out for quite some time and so far no fix has been available without doing things that the consumer should simply not have to do to play a product that they bought with their own money.

Another Update: Started getting Error #1 as well as #2 made sure both public and private settings were ticked and added Il-2.exe to allowed programs on Windows Firewall, now, I am back to just Error #2

Once again, an update: Installed it on another computer on a different router and no, didn't work. Same issue :help:

Salutations,

I'm sorry to hear about your connection problems. I'll take a wild guess. Do you have and run the Nvidia Experience? If you do... delete it and afterwards see if you can connect. It's worth a try.

I do! I will try that once I am home, thanks for the tip.

Outstanding... it is very sad that Nvidias program is causing such problems..

hence another reason why i like the old drivers..

for new versions there is a place where you can get "custom" nvidia drivers with Gefore experience "cleaned" out of it

Well, since 15 minutes, I have the same problem.

My internet is fine ( 100 / 11 Mbit ), its definitely a serverproblem of 1 C Game Studios.

So you can only play quick missions offline, which is not what I had in my mind. Please fix your servers, thx!!

Hi all,

I've recently stumbled upon this problem and now I can't use BOS online. It's getting somewhat tedious and frustrating.

I bought the game back in the last sale, enjoyed a few sessions online before Christmas and wanted to get back involved as a lot of our squad are now flying it.

Nothing has changed on my rig since I last booted the game but now I get the commonly seen #1 and #2 errors below:

post-150880-0-67604900-1517271371_thumb.png

I've tried everything that the 1CGS support team suggested but to no avail (actually I didn't really have to change a thing, it was the same as before when it worked!)

Before authorizing:

- check the settings of the Security (antivirus, firewall, UAC ...) Make sure that they are not blocking the exchange of data with the server

- make sure that the update is successfully completed

- make sure you have Administrator privileges for your Windows account

- make all the game ports in the exceptions your router and security tools

Authorization requires ports 80 and 443.

  Multiplayer mode uses TCP – 28000, UDP – 28000,

  Downloader Port (TCP) – 28100.

- try to use direct cable connection to PC

- perhaps it makes sense to update the router firmware

I just tried uninstalling GeForce Experience, but that has not made one jot of difference.

I'm reaching the point of requesting a refund now because I will only fly this sim online.

Any bright ideas?

Thanks in advance  ;)

I am having the same issue since yesterday. It's either the error message you posted or it takes 1-2 minutes to connect to the server. Never had this problem before since BoS was released years ago.

I have overcome it by launching it directly from the IL-2.exe file rather than the launcher, try that?

I have recently started to have this issue, I cannot connect and cannot launch the game. I have checked my internet and its fine, the firewall is fine and I have gotten rid of the Nvidia experience app.

What else can I do?

Played just fine last night. Unable to play this afternoon / night. Have tried multiple times over past 4 hours. I just wanted to get back to some campaign missions. Always when I finally have some time for video games that something goes wrong lol
