I have come here on occasion to gripe and complain when something doesn't suit me, however, in this case I have to give some credit.

 

Heretofore, I have not messed with the in game campaign.  The last couple of days I fired up the Moscow campaign and I must say, I am fairly impressed and thoroughly enjoying myself.
I like how you choose your airbase, your plane, you mission type then the thing seems like it generates a mission each time.  I really like it.

I understand that some sort of dynamic campaign where you have a pilot that you walk through a campaign like RoF would be nice as well, but I really like this set up and wish I would have checked it out sooner.

The only major thing that this is missing is the option to have the exact thing but in Co-Op mode.

Anyway, I say, good job guys.

I like it a lot too.  I too like how you can select your plane and type of mission and it does it all for you.  I also like how you can do the shortened mission.  I can't yet decide which I prefer, the campaign or the scripted campaign.  I suppose the regular campaign has more re-playability, so I suppose that.

The devs will be implementing something like RoF's career mode on IL-2 Sturmovik soon or not so soon, but it's on the plans.

Things will change and be improved. I'm having fun with the current campaign as well. It's great to improve skills.

It's coming this year. Probably in the fall.

From the tentative timeline provided by Jason... October will see the release of the beta of the new campaign system across all three products.

I'm assuming it will stay in beta and continue to be revised until final release. Even then, I'm guessing that updates will come along periodically.
