As pilots who participate in this online community, I would like see what people's opinions are regarding cheating in Battle of Stalingrad/Moscow.  

 

Do you believe that cheating is possible on multiplayers servers in Battle of Stalingrad/Moscow?

This includes:

- cheats noticeable by everyone:  unlimited ammo and invulnerable aircraft.

- cheats not so noticeable: object markers (icons), and/or lead computing gun-sight.

- manipulation of game code.

- reading of game code not intended for the end user.

An entirely pointless poll. Either cheating is possible, or it isn't, and knowing how many people think it is adds no useful information.

I don't even know how to cheat...  Count me as a Patsy for a chump kill.

The game is run from Random peoples computers without security checks / background checks or any sort of protection.

Anyone can do it, when you have the games Dedicated server.exe right there.
Alter game files, inject other files, supress effects and so on..
There is NO control when players can run dedicated server from their own PC.

The ONLY Games that are secure from cheating/hacking are those which are PURELY Server side and no player has any sort of access to the server other than physically braking into the building and altering files on the server manually.
ALL of those game are of course MMO's (which IL2 is not an MMO) Firstly not enough people, Second It does not have proper dedicated servers covering most regions enough to support the entire player base at the same time.

Dev's have said they improved methods of catching cheaters and giving out permanent bans..the answer to the question is already very public knowledge

We already know that cheating has been going on... the fact that the devs have put out posts on it more than once confirms it, plus they deal out bans for it, so this poll is not needed really.

Agreed.  Not sure why it's needed unless it is meant to counter-balance another poll posted a few days ago by a certain individual.   This said, I voted "yes" as it's a known problem, but as I have previously stated in similar threads I think the point is moot.  Either people cheat or don't.  If they do, they know it and many others do to.   It's old and doesn't need to be constantly rehashed in public.  If proof exists, get it to the devs and let them deal with it.

Devs already gave answers to this and cheating is taken very seriously by the team (same as accusing people in public of it) and bans were handled. So, the poll questions had been officialy answered, so for obvious reasons Im locking it.
