Knolly Posted December 31, 2016 Posted December 31, 2016 Hi guys I've just got back into il2 after playing 46, my old sidewinder is showing its age and I'm looking to upgrade. Has anyone had any experience with the T.16000M FCS Hotas? It seems to have everything I want for a reasonable price (about £100) Thanks
BOO Posted December 31, 2016 Posted December 31, 2016 Hi You can find them a bit cheaper than that but they are good sticks by all accounts. VKB sticks (is it the gladiator?) are also available in that range but the convoluted development, spec changes, distribution and manufacturing under licence arrangements lost my interest some while ago. Although some initial reviews have been slightly mixed (but generally favorable) many simmers actually using them are posting good reviews. As for the sidewinder - its old tech but its still good tech. I love mine (and like all fanboys have a couple of spares too). All the warthoggy/gunfighter goodness in the world really doesnt make me want to change it. However unrealistic, i like FFB and in other simes like Clod i find its varying resistance in chages to airspeed and impending stalls a really useful sensory prompt. Can be a bit buggy in the games though as you know and the recent patch has seen a whole new set of "WTFs" for me in terms of its engagement, ability to re-engage if you tab out and the brand new phenomenon of simply not responding at all. Sad given all that seemed to have improved recently but i live in hope. Hope this help - Sokol is the man to listen to in my view when it comes to stuff like this. Best of luck BOO
Knolly Posted December 31, 2016 Author Posted December 31, 2016 Thanks for the quick reply, I don't have the force feedback model but the hatswitch and a few other buttons are starting to fail even after taking it apart and giving it a good clean but it has served me well! I had a look at vkb sticks but don't seem to be in stock and are hard to get in the uk?

Im not sure about the supply situation - as is say- seems very convoluted for UK/EU customers but hopefully im wrong - hopefully someone will be along to clarify. I do agree the VKB stuff looks superb even if it doesnt make me want one :-) Regards BOO
SYN_Mike77 Posted December 31, 2016 Posted December 31, 2016 I own the T16000 stick and it has worked very well for me. My one complaint is the silly light in the base. Sometimes it wont go off for days. But as a flight stick it's generally thought to be the best at the price point.
=RAW=Tobermory Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 i all-so own this stick. i very much enjoy it .. but i have nothing to compare it too. the analogue stick on the throttle is perfect for free head movement. i found i had to attach it too my desk as its a bit light.

Replace this with iron/lead will add weight.
Thad Posted March 22, 2017 Posted March 22, 2017 Four words: Industrial Strength Velcro Tape. It will not move.
Thad Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 (edited) I have the FCS sans the rudder pedals. I have been mapping it. I'm not finished with it. Below, I have displayed what I've come up with thusfar. No optimal, I'm sure. Just wanted to share. I use JoyToKey to map my tanks. The joystick aims the cannon while the paddles on the throttle drive the tank. Tank use is a bit more difficult but it feels more realistic. Edited April 5, 2017 by Thad
Mika_87 Posted April 17, 2020 Posted April 17, 2020 (edited) Just received my T.16000M FCS HOTAS today. I like the throtle but that stick. What a dissapoint!! I cant find even 1 reason why it would be better or even at same level than my previous Logitech Extreme 3D Pro. There is no feel on the stick, buttons are very cheap and overall quality feels so bad. I know that my Logitech is also cheap but it feel so much better in IL2. I will try to get used to it but right now I would like to pack it back in the box and return immediately. Luckily I bought it where I can get my money back. ? edit: just found out that I cant return my T.16000M ? edit: put it for sale on local website, hopefully someone want it. Bernard_IV Posted April 19, 2020 Posted April 19, 2020 I just got the VKB Gladiator Mk.II and am extremely pleased. The gimbal doesn't feel cheap and is accurate. The button placement could be better but they all work well and the trigger feels good. The throttle is pretty nice also. I would have paid more for this.

Logitech 3D PRO indeed use pontentiometer (cheap model) in all axes. But T.16000M too use similar (low cost) quality potentiometer in twist axis, throttle slider and TWCS throttle axes. T.16000M stick use Hall sensor only in X and Y axes (same model used in Warthog and X56 sticks).
