Grey box on screen

So I'm new to this clod. One time I accidentally clicked on New Information Window instead of the map. I tried clicking it again to get rid of it but it just made more windows. I dragged them all off the screen because they wouldn't close. Now every time I play there is a big grey rectangle there where those windows were.

Yes you can make yourself info boxes with everything. If I remember correctly you need to right click those boxes and get into settings, make them visible on box and title, then you can get rid of them

We've all been there Borys.

 

Usually it starts with "where is my gunsight" before progressing to "what is my spit/109 turning on its back when i try to take off" followed by "why is everything blowing up 30 secs after take off" before finishing with " how do i find anyone"

After that - id recommend teaming up with ATAG Highseas and his "Rag-Tags" if you can - regardless of what you intend to fly long term (they are Red) they will get you in game and over the initial learning curve. 

 

If you fly blue perhaps JG51 Molders and 9/JG52 are the ones to approach for advice but there are lots of others - (Sputnik, im not suggesting JG4 as you guys tend to be "on a mission" when you are flying so perhaps wouldn't be best disposed to be able to guide newcommers in the times you have available)

Nah the gun sight is easy enough to figure out by just hovering the mouse over.

 

I never really was interested in BoB but this is getting me into it. That and my wife being Polish she knows about 303 sqn so she is more interested as well.

 

I have the graphics maxed out and it runs smooth even with 60 planes in the air. The German mine rounds do massive amounts of damage as well!

 

Can't wait for the new TFS add ons.

Also I am seeing some screenshots with flames coming out of exhaust similar to BoX. How do I turn this on?

The flames comes in all planes that I am aware of when you start up. It is hard to see in some planes due to cockpit only view

I'm updated to 4.312 and I don't see them on any planes at all. Strange.

Nevermind I fixed it lol. It is toggled on and off with the realistic engine management settings. That is awesome. So it isn't just a pure eye candy as in BoX it is actually a visual aid to use in engine management.
