Microsoft Sidewinder throttle issue

Hi guys

 

I have just purchased BOM after returning to the il2 scene however i cant get my throttle on the joystick to work. I have checked in windows and on the test screen it works correctly and shows it moving backwards and forwards. In BOM i have mapped it to the throttle but it only seems to pick it up at certain point as if its a press button but and when i go into input responses screen it shows no movement at all.

 

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to get this to work?

If you press a button this became assigned and not the axis.

 

Move throttle slider back and forth, fast and several times that axis became recognized.

For some reason when i did it slowly it recognised it but then wouldn't move the needle when i went into the input responses, moving it fast seemed to do the trick
