6./ZG26_Loke Posted December 28, 2016 Posted December 28, 2016 S! Had CoD since 2014, when I got it for free with another game. Could not fly it when because my joystick n pedals wouldn't coop with it then. Now wanted to try after updating to Win10 last summer. It updated at Steam but when I try to launch it nothing happens. Only thing I get every time is that I need to accept the app by Valve to run on my PC. Any ideas? If I shall re-install, how does that work with Steam? Cheers
BOO Posted December 28, 2016 Posted December 28, 2016 Hi It wont run on Win 10 without the team fusion patch 3.0 or, in place of this, possibly the additional patch offered on steam (there were bugs with that patch on release and it wont work with the TF patches. - you need to install one of the other before anything. If you want to play online you'll need the TF patches. All the info you need is on the ATAG forum. Good luck! Regards BOO
Sokol1 Posted December 28, 2016 Posted December 28, 2016 No reason for not install the two Team Fusion Patches and their fix patches, after will run OK in Win10, offline and online. http://teamfusion.theairtacticalassaultgroup.com/ It's said that eventually this patches will be integrated in STEAM install, but need await "two weeks, be sure™".
Lusekofte Posted December 28, 2016 Posted December 28, 2016 I suspect and understood that all work involving source code will be redone and then loaded to steam. And the patch to 5.0 will probably suffer from that work. I wonder if this patch will be the same as we have here, a spyware. I do not mind it, just wondering
DD_Arthur Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 I wonder if this patch will be the same as we have here, a spyware. I do not mind it, just wondering Eh?
6./ZG26_Loke Posted December 29, 2016 Author Posted December 29, 2016 All these patches makes me think of the original Il-2 series, which eventually killed the community. If it runs via Steam all updates should be made from there and one should just be able to relax and let the updates take care of things. If Bo(X) worked that way, it would loose fast to DCS and Warthunder.

If it runs via Steam all updates should be made from there and one should just be able to relax and let the updates take care of things. If Bo(X) worked that way, it would loose fast to DCS and Warthunder. TF couldnt make them available in steam until now and/or Ubisoft wouldnt let them. TF can now do as you suggest but it will take a little time to do. Eventually it'll all be automatic. As it stands i think the TF patches and the few dedicated souls who run things like SOW, ATAG and ACG have actually kept the interest going. The best of a bad job if you will. LUISEKOFT!! - oh no!! What have you started!! :-)) - Arthur, TF patch 4.0 shows up in some AV as malware/spyware and then the AV messes up the download. Nothing more. No nasties at all are hidden. Been on my system without issue since the start. Nothing to see here. Move along. Regards BOO 1
6./ZG26_Loke Posted December 29, 2016 Author Posted December 29, 2016 Boo. Is it worth it? Or should one wait until it automatic!? I fly as you see all the Bo(X), and also RoF, and rarely M$ FSX. So it is not that I don't have any sims :-). Just never got around to CoD, as it were said to be pretty bad when it came out, and I was still busy with Il-2 '46.
BOO Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 For me Loke, I definately do think its worth it. I enjoy playing CLOD and getting involved with its community. Its not quite as pretty as BOS and there are lots of "Hmmms" that you might need to look on the forums about (like 109 prop pitch bugs and even the patch set up etc) but its still very very good. The missions on the ATAG servers are decent to. Always something to do. I recently blew up my PC and had numerous (user) problems getting BOS to work again so went back into CLOD just to play over xmas. I didnt find it looked "old" and i didnt find it boring either. Just a really nice fun and enjoyable change. If you run Win10 itll run fine with the patches and without the Cloder application as well. It wont interfere with BOS either. The secret with the patches (not really a secret) for 10 is this- DL and run the v3.0 patch as Administrator (after this the game will run in W10) Set up the game to start in admin mode (i dunno, everyone says so so hell, why not) and run it - enter a quick mission and quit out - this "registers" for want of a better term the patch. Repeat for the others. Patch 4.0 - sometimes shows up as carrying a virus - it isnt. You will want to turn off an AV for it though as it can wreck the download. If you download the zip file (use 7z) itll come in two parts - an installer and another zip file - DO NOT unzip the zip file called v4.0. The installer will do that for you. Give it go -you can always uninstall it. Regards BOO 1

I was just curious as to what Luskofte was rambling on about this time.

Sorry if it sounded as if i was spoon feeding you but i couldnt leave it at "eh?" - Forums are rumour mills as you well know. - Its all good now :-)

Seems that for you will not worth the work to deal with patches (for one used to this don't take 5 minutes install). Await the "promised" integrated installation in STEAM to test - if meanwhile don't lost interest - probable in ~Q2 2017. Meanwhile play other sims.
CisTer-dB- Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 (edited) Hi Loke, If I may, for me CloD is still the best multiplayer sim with very immersive persistent campaign like in Storm of War http://www.stormofwar.org/?Page=longwar or a more laid back multiplayer server with ATAG, CloD netcode can support good amount of units better then other games. Some say it's a little less eye candy then BoS/M/K some call it less Hollywood, I guess it's a question of taste, for sure CloD isn't new and it can show in some aspect but still after playing 3000 hrs on it I am still having those wow moments when another undiscovered damage model as exemple I am a sim junky, I have them all none are perfect but if you like the planes sets, the huge map and a great community. Go for it Here a link for it, follow that step by step and you will be set http://theairtacticalassaultgroup.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5058&p=52711 Edited December 29, 2016 by ATAG_dB
BOO Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 Should have added that with servers like DangerDogz and the ATAG 2 server you also get a good chance to practice/familiarize without having to set up flights etc offline in the FMB. The TWC server has just about the most determined AI clod can currently offer plus a chance to get familiar with the area around the Somme. All are great for hopping into something different, somewhere different and working it all out. 2
6./ZG26_Loke Posted December 29, 2016 Author Posted December 29, 2016 Installed all patches now, but as previously it won't see my controls, not even when I try to add them in settings :-(.
Sokol1 Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 Options> Controls > Axes tab> Select, e.g. Aileron, in the new window move joystick left/right. Nothing happens?
6./ZG26_Loke Posted December 29, 2016 Author Posted December 29, 2016 Options> Controls > Axes tab> Select, e.g. Aileron, in the new window move joystick left/right. Nothing happens? Correct!
Sokol1 Posted December 30, 2016 Posted December 30, 2016 Just for assure we are talking about the same thing: Other than this... RevoUninstaller.
BOO Posted December 30, 2016 Posted December 30, 2016 Hi Loke - im sorry it isnt going smooth for you. We might be getting close to Sokols "2 weeks be sure" suggestion of waiting for the steam patch and trying again BUT you got this far so....... Any yellow triangles against the USB ports in Device manger? Are all the USB ports being used showing up as active (ie showing a little usb icon next to them) Are you using ASMEDIA 3.1 USB ports for anything - i believe these have no backward compatibility to other USB standards What are your controllers? Do they work in BOS in win 10? Are you using any third party software (TARGET etc) Are they on a Vjoy set up? Are they on a hub or plugged directly into the PC? Are they recognized in windows hardware settings? - if so are they responding? Do you plug them in and out or keep em connected? Do you use any form of headtracker that uses joystick emulation (EDtracker for instance) Clod not recognizing controllers is rare unless something else is interfering with them. All the above are just numb questions from me - Sokol is, IMHO, the authority on all things sticky. Regards BOO
6./ZG26_Loke Posted December 30, 2016 Author Posted December 30, 2016 (edited) It was the same problem when I got CloD in 2014, which is why I never flew it. I hope the transfer to Win10 would have helped, which it didn't. It is the only sim where I have this problem, works fine in every other game and sim I have. So it can only be something in CloD which does not like my controllers. Saitek X52 Pro joystick, throttle and pedals btw. Edited December 30, 2016 by RAF_Loke
BOO Posted December 30, 2016 Posted December 30, 2016 http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=28227 https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/20517-major-x52-functionality-problems/ Worth a few minutes reading.... Other than this i might suggest logging the problem on the ATAG forun under the technical forum or waiting for Sokol (who would likely be the one to reply to your quiery in ATAG first but there will be others who have had this issue as i same who may also chip in) - the term "X 52" crops up regularly but I also know a lot of players who use it in clod. I wish you luck Loke Regards BOO
Thad Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 I was unable to run COD from steam (windows 10). I reloaded etc. etc. I downloaded all of the patches. The problem is that one is required to run the game briefly for the individual patches to take effect. BUT REMEMBER... I CAN'T START THE GAME! I found a solution to the problem... I deleted the entire game. I'll wait until I can get the new version from here.
Guest deleted@30725 Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 For the tf mod you don't need to run game for patches.
Thad Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 Thanks but too late... I am not going to waste any more time with it. I'll wait until it is available in its updated state here.
Sokol1 Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 (edited) CloD definitive fix. Edited January 13, 2017 by Sokol1
