Further tests will have to wait until my base arrives:(
Currently I use a heavily modified Schreinerschmid KG20. I made it Warthog grip compatible by using MFGs SIMMRGE controllerboard.
Problem now is is that the thread i had machined on the gripadapter works well for my Warthog Grip but the Virpil thread seems to be finer and I dont want to break it trying to screw it on there. Goes a little hard and I intend to replace my Schreinerschmidbase with the Virpil base anyways.
What I can say is that it works flawlessly with the Warthog Base. Plug and play basically.
My planned setup for when my Virpil base and LH Grip of the T50 arrive:

Maingrip: Virpil Mongoos T50 plus Virpil Base and Virpil extensions.

Lefthand Grip (I am a Star Citizen): Warthog Base with Mongoose T50 LH grip.

I Just placed a pre order for Black Edition stick or at least tried. No confirmation that my order took despite giving my information. Sent email to sales. Also posted question in VPC forums which does not seem very active and still no answers. I now can not re-access Virpil.by website with the username and password I have been using. The whole affair is feeling a bit shading to me. I hope I don't end up regretting trying to order from there. Feeling very miffed at the moment.

Hi Hackl,

I replied to your email a couple of days ago about the desk plate (please check your spam folder). I don't seem to have any emails from you since then though? Can you please email sale@virpil.com if you're having problems with your order.

I can assure you I am very active (I get instant notifications to all emails) and many people have already received their VPC gear  :)

Is anyone else having problems with their CC when placing a pre-order?  I've had two AMEX cards and one VISA all get rejected due to international CC issues.  I have three duplicate orders that are all unpaid that Virpil should cancel.

Also - is it possible to purchase one of these types of extensions?  With the two 45' bends in it?

ah yes found it in Spam folder. Thank you for that! Still the issue of the order. I posted in VPC forum. Hope to get this figured out "in Time for new order dispersals" :)

Wish they had PayPal. would be so much simpler.

Hi Windhawk,

I can't really do much from the IL2 forums - can you email sale@virpil.com and I'll get this resolved for you!

Got my order in.  Thank for for the assistance.  Took a few back and forth emails, but Virpil helped me along.

For what it's worth, I had to use an AMEX, and I had to call them first to pre-approve the transaction.

The joystick looks great! My only concern would be that its too tall to use on top of the desktop.

Regarding the throttle, the levers and the buttons in it look great too, but the base needs to be refined visually.

I'll definitely keep your product in mind when my X55 breaks (soon). I look forward to other users reviews as well.

Best of luck, I hope the sales go well.

It's true, the MongoosT-50 Flightstick is designed first and foremost as a pro-sim grade joystick intended to be used with the VPC Desk Mount or in a simpit setup rather than as a space saving desktop stick!

The throttle images are very early renders, look out for the full throttle announcement coming soon.

Thanks

So by saying I want a desktop version with the Desk Plate I was hoping for the stick on the right where the stick neck is not as long,  as it is in this illustration.

Will it not be possible for this type of set-up?

While that particular image is an early render, it is an accurate representation of what the MongoosT-50 will be like with the desk plate :)

Im going to have a man cave soon, so its possible that i will be able to set up the desk mount :)

I like the angle of the joystick, which feels more natural to use the thumb and also just move the arm and not just the wrist.

So this is a concept illustration and not an actual available product...

hmmm, maybe if there was a short stem option to mod it.

Thanks guys for replies.

The MongoosT-50 Base and Grip are real available products, that particular image you linked to was just an early render. As I said, it's just the desk plate which isn't available yet, but we're aiming for end of June.  :)

25th May 2017 // Announcement No. 12

► VPC MongoosT-50 Electronics

The components used in the VPC MongoosT-50 control systems are of a proprietary design courtesy of the VirPil Controls design team.

The system consists of:

• VPC-Controller

• VPC 360° 16-bit Digital Sensors (iGMR-Based Angular Sensor)

VPCElectronics_01_1200.jpg

At the heart of the control system you will find our VPC-Controller. This is based around a modern RISC AVR processor provided by Atmel. Capable of 16 million instructions per second. Data updates for axes positions and button presses are processed at 500 times per second.

Supporting up to 8 axes and 128 buttons, the VPC MongoosT-50 electronics will be able to support any future VPC grips.

VPCElectronics_03_1200.jpg

The controller is compatible with both Windows and MacOS PCs, connecting via USB 2.0. The controller is automatically recognized without requiring any prior driver or software installations.

VPCElectronics_06_1200.jpg

The VPC sensors use contactless iGMR (magnetic field) technology, based on the latest ADC chips offering 16-bit precision. The sensor chip controls the DSP processor at a speed of 8 million instructions per second and connects to the controller via a 4wire proprietary comms protocol. The resulting accuracy is a huge 32,000 readings per 360 degrees in 1 count steps (0.01° / count). The resulting accuracy across the joystick’s travel means movements as small as 0.006° are detected!

Our VPC-Config software meets the needs of every player, transforming the VPCockpit controls into a fully configurable professional flight tool. More information on this in our next announcement!

Stay tuned for further announcements at the VIRPIL.COM website.
