player caught (very possibly) cheating in multiplayer with flight recording - please advise

Hello,

 

So today I have captured the most unusual air-air kill (myself on the receiving end) on a track recording - I'm not sure what the protocol is to accuse someone of cheating with due proof, so I'm here to ask - who should I send this report and evidence to?

 

I do not wish to openly name names - as this would lead to probably a flame war - but this player has long been suspected by many, and now I have evidence of his actions as being indeed somewhat "out of the usual" 

 

the recording features his plane showing up from out of nowhere, directly on target (me) - and scoring a VERY unlikely off-angle hit (his nose never points into the correct attitude for leading my trajectory) - he promptly then zooms away and is gone 

 

this would very much be "another day in the office" for myself, as I admit my dogfighting style is somewhat reckless, and thus I do get shot down quite a lot

 

this one, however - raises more than the usual eyebrow

 

above all other oddities, one may note how the offending aircraft appears on the track WITHOUT his name and icon - it is also not possible to focus in on his aircraft with ctrl+f2 (which in that same track works with all other enemy players around, except this one)

 

 

I'd like to request an official investigation of this recording, in order to determine what exactly has happened there, and if necessary, remove a much suspected (and now possibly proven) violator of the rules of conduct from our otherwise noble community

 

 

if nothing else, server admins might wish to check into this to ensure their own policies aren't being crossed here - this happened on the popular Wings of Liberty server

Leaving everything else in your post aside, this happened to me, more than once. I couldnt see the enemy's name and couldnt focus on him with ctrl+f2, so I guess at least in that aspect I dont think cheating has anything to do with it (I hope so!), but it would also be interesting to know why that happens.

Probably a bug, I was insta-killed with no warning. The sound code string didn't activate or something and my gunner never called him out. It only happens once and a while. However, this is exactly why I have made my own server.

It's impossible to bounce people. I dove from far out and zoomed up from low six and dude still broke away because he saw me somehow. Some peoples' situational awareness is just too good in this game...

 

Then when they break away from the attack, it's like they never black out from Gs and keep maneuvering like the Gs dont affect them...

 

Questionable deflection shots

 

Questionable plane performance. Just weird. Seems I have the same energy state as person, but they seem to gain some extra performance from their asshole...

 

Online play is becoming extremely frustrating.

as you said it - that's our villain

 

 

I just don't want the thread getting locked though, most others which blatantly named him seem to have ended up that way... so I made sure to be extra careful about it - presenting facts and data before the torches and pitchforks come out

 

 

but yes - that's the man - we only need him banned from WoL really, all the other servers already did so

The fact you mention only his plane not having a name tag just spells cheat right there.

 

So it appears from nowhere on the replay? Ie. You can see the plane appear as if it were spawning?

Isnt all this going to come back to ping?  One player closer to the server location, one player a long way away. 

 

Even against AI or another player on a long distance server i can see the attitude of the aircraft is different than the angle need to hit me. Regardless of past issue/accusations with a player there is always a likelyhood that this is also a probable cause. 

 

Clod is held up as a paragon of a cheat free server environment and it happens there to. If i fly against friends in Oz  (I stress the word "friends" as they have no cause to cheat given its just us messing about) I see this too. 

 

Im not saying either way what is going just offering a possible cause.

yes - it does make my recording (and a growing number of others) somewhat unreliable as ultimate proof... which is inconvenient

 

luckily for us, the offender has recorded his "exploits" himself, and that I found to be a more than compelling demonstration of his undeniable skill in the usage of aimbots - that he offers to sell "lessons" then only serves to add motive to the case against him

 

combine that with the (very unlikely to be coincidental) history of very similar bans from all other corners of the flightsim world and beyond - and the case speaks for itself... 

 

I reckon most who would argue cheat accusations come from "butthurtedness" are at least in part trying to deny the existence of cheating in their favorite passtime/obsession - it is hard to swallow that there can be such a blight upon an otherwise outstandingly noble community -- but hey, if we remove him, then there definitely won't be

 

anyways - devs may deal with him however they like - if he's gone from WoL (as he's already from the everywhere else) then the matter is effectively solved

 

 

but yes, albeit possibly due to latency, in the replay he does appear as if from nowhere, no name-tag, and you cant' focus the camera on his plane either -- then he shoots near me with his infamous one-shot-insta-kill and scurries off away from the fight - none of the four or so other aircraft in that same furball seem to notice him

Not saying your wrong Moach - just throwing it as there are cases where the possible "cheat" is something more innocent. 

 

I will say that ive been instakilled by the player in question. On that occasion i did see him but he did outfly me and his shots were accurate in my view.

Well, Im locking it since you as a OP, along with others, break the rules with such posts.

This even happens to me while testing SP missions so...sorry nothing to do with cheating.

 

So.... We will now open up threads accusing all good players of cheating ? Guess I should start calling Rambo a cheater then.... 

It wont happen since it breaks rule 7.

 

Well as said, Im locking it. My advice: If you want to accuse someone of cheating, send the Devs the proof of it and they will investigate it as they did before. If server admins wants to ban members they can.
