All,

Just purchased IL2 Moscow, cannot get the sim to recognize Joystick flight functioning...weapons firing fine from trigger, however, joystick will not function for flying (yaw,pitch...), have moved from USB3 to USB2, "no dice". All controls have been mapped. Joystick works fine with other sims. Any help, much appreciated. Thanks.

Since you inform that "weapons firing fine from trigger" this means that game recognize your joystick.

But - as any other joystick - the game not set their axis or buttons for proper functions (the trigger was by choice, since triggers in generally buttons 1 and games has button 1 set for MG).

So go in Options > Key Mapping > Plane Controls > find Roll (aileron - the names used there is not too friendly), double click and in the new window move the stick right and left - several times  and fast if needed - for the axis be recognized. Hit Ok.

Axis controls can be "tuned" clicking in the icon with a curved  graph at right.

Do the same for other controls that use axis,(Elevator, Rudder - called Yaw, Throttle - or is Power, don't remember) for control.

And for the ones for what you want use other joy buttons press the respective button in the assignment window.
