Ju52 First Online Recorded Air Kill

We were testing drop zones mechanics on Random Expert server and then were intercepted by fighters. 

 

It seems the Tante Ju is not an easy target like most people think. Too slow to concentrate fire and good defensive arc of fire.

 

It was necessary 3x JU52 drops to capture the target.

Was the pilot killed or the controls destroyed? Because otherwise it looks to me, that the LaGG simply crashed into the trees. But he surely had some problems with attacking you.

BTW, where were your paratroopers during the attack. Did they hide on the floor of the Ju52, because I couldn't see them through the side windows, like I should?

It seems you only can see your own paratroopers sitting inside the plane in online missions. McVack will report it on the bug sections later. But dropping to the plane's floor is a good one 

 

Maneuver kill for sure !!!  The AI gunner also reported "target destroyed" in the comms. Flying low and slow it is your best chance

Thanks Gielow. It was a fun mission and really intense during the attack

I think it was a pilot kill or some kind of controls failure since Gielow got some last second hits on him when he was going after me or he was too concentrated on me so he forgot the trees

 

Btw its been reported to the devs.

As soon as people realize that the Ju is absolutely helpless from the front and slow enough that you can easily and quickly set up good attack runs from there, things will go very different I assume. ^^

What or who make him fly so low to the point of crashing into the trees?? Your concept of air kill is too strict.

It also does not change the fact that we won that fight

Maybe the paratroopers were all sitting on the floor, spitting and changing their pants, because of the way you were flying.

Paratroopers don't like it, when you dive down with the aircraft, they are sitting in, that is the reason, why they never jumped out of divebombers.

Nice job getting that LaGG; any kite with a gunner in this game should be treated with caution, as you chaps so clearly demonstrate    .

Without undo embarrassment, is the LaGG pilot's identity known? The Ju-52 is obviously vulnerable from below. I'm not sure why the attacking pilot would choose to take more difficult shots from a crossing angle. Unless he likes the challenge I'd suppose.

 

But man, that formation flying does look like fun. I would think if there were more Ju-52s available, staggered formations of three planes Vs might be an effective defense.

Surely they are equipped with MG and grenade launchers

That was a kill, he got hit right before the treeline witch made him go sideways into the trees. In all other dogfights this would have been deemed a kill.
