Urra Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 Could they just update a setting in the launcher that allows the end user to check a box for Nvidia or AMD, and then the program will utilize the appropriate shaders required for each GPU? Seems like a logical and quick interim fix while they work on a long term solution. Good solution. 1+
discusdiscusbob Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 (edited) I only play SP but I also have been having stutters since DX11 hotfix, even with frame rates around 100 FPS. I also have been messing with Steel Fury lately, I have a bunch of different installs on my machine as I play with different mod setups. I have two identical installs of the game, one on my C drive (SSD) and one on my F drive (HDD). I noticed that the one on the SSD had stutters and the same install on the HDD did not. So I copied and pasted my IL2 folder onto the HHD and gave it a try. Smooth a silk, I have no idea why. I played the same scripted missions from both installs several times tonight, SSD stutters and the HDD does not. Edited February 2, 2017 by discusdiscusbob

69th_Panp Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 Same for me. Horrible stuttering while in the vicinity of other planes. All since the last patch. Fps are fine, it feels like some kind of net lag. I would not believe it possible witha 300 MB down and a 30Mb up
discusdiscusbob Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 Yeah I spoke to soon, its still there, Maybe just a bit better on my F drive. Around 100 FPS most of the time, never lower than 60. Yet stutters when there is any action. For me its like a little hitch every 2 seconds or so, just a little perceptible pause.
150GCT_Veltro Posted February 11, 2017 Posted February 11, 2017 (edited) PC upgraded, or better ..the new one. Power Corsair CP-9020083-EU 850W certified 80+ MB CPU RAM MSI Z170A GAMING M5 Intel Core I7-6700K Corsair Vengeance DDR4 3000 MHz CL15 GPU Msi GTX 1060 6GB The first test on Berloga yesterday evening is gone very well without stuttering at all, even if IL2 has given again the Full Screen error (SAMSUNG 22'' HDMI) and FFB2 was plugged and activated. =FCU=PetSild Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 Just the placebo effect of a new pc, this conflict no matter how good the machine does not help.
SCG_motoadve Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 Same here, latest patch ruined , lots of stutters now, offline and online. Win 7 64 bit Nvidia GTX 1080 Intel i7
ACG_Invictus Posted March 4, 2017 Posted March 4, 2017 (edited) The stutters actually seem to be getting a bit worse with the latest patch. Same symptoms: Online only. More planes in render range the more pronounced the stuttering. Playing multiplayer during the day is basically impossible since the main servers are heavily populated. Will the devs ever repond? Edited March 4, 2017 by ATAG_Invictus
Tuesday Posted March 4, 2017 Posted March 4, 2017 I never had issues with the stuttering until this patch. When near other aircraft my game basically turns into a Powerpoint slideshow.
Garuda Posted March 8, 2017 Posted March 8, 2017 (edited) Same here. Only online. Firstly I thought network lag due to my network provider. Worse in WOL. Slightly better in Beloga somehow. Edited March 8, 2017 by Garuda
69th_Panp Posted March 11, 2017 Posted March 11, 2017 (edited) The stuttering issue for me is when planes are within 3 or 4 kilcks and get worse as they get closer. Maybe a Operating system check is needed to see if its related ? My system is win 7 pro 64 bit Yours ? have any devs even spoke of this ? Edited March 11, 2017 by Panp
HunDread Posted March 12, 2017 Posted March 12, 2017 Can you guys check if special effects, mainly other planes firing on each other, triggers the stuttering. It appears to me thats when Im getting it. Steady 60 fps all the time, still... Win 10 Gtx 1070 4970k 8gb ram
Semor76 Posted March 12, 2017 Posted March 12, 2017 Looks like I can join the club.I got the same terrible stuttering in Online matches if more than 3-4 Planes are near my own Plane. FPS is stable around 50.So,I ask some others in the chat and they can confirm this problem. I wonder why nobody of the Dev. Team take notice of this.
ACG_pezman Posted March 15, 2017 Posted March 15, 2017 While I haven't been able to fly the past couple of weeks, I was able to hop on for a bit yesterday just to notice that I have a stuttering issue that I never used to. What has changed?
[BSS-214]commiekiller18 Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 Has this been fixed yet? Been a few months since Ive logged due to this...
IRRE_Jahspi Posted May 9, 2017 Posted May 9, 2017 Still have stuttering in MP, when a lot off ground targets and/or planes pop out. My specs : I7 6700k OC @4.5 GTX 1080 16 Gb DDR4 Ultra preset 4k resolution all options enable except for extra grass Vsync on Still no solution for this issue ?
71st_AH_Mastiff Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 (edited) I think Windows 7 isn't supported any long? so the EULA wouldn't apply for a lot of you guys stuck in the stone ages.. So maybe they need to update the minimums to Windows 8, 8.1, 10 systems only..or microsoft supported O.S's? https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/13853/windows-lifecycle-fact-sheet so if I was the developers I would say you're on a non supported OS.. EisenWaffel Posted May 14, 2017 Posted May 14, 2017 The stutters happen even in 8.1 but it gets confusing because there's different causes for different types of "stutters" If the video card sync is wrong there will be a constant jarring stutter, usually fixed by turning on vsync and making sure graphic options aren't set too high. In multiplayer there's often a stutter when some objective gets completed or something gets attacked or explodes (so is how the game announces events unoptimized in some way?) Another type of stutter seems to appear while you're traversing the map and planes are entering your area (so is how the game loads resources unoptimized, maybe it could preload more resources and use more RAM in exchange for a longer load time?) Some of these might be caused by high pings and people connecting from different areas. It's not so bad that it's unplayable but it's hard to ignore.

9./JG27MAD-MM Posted May 15, 2017 Posted May 15, 2017 The Mainstream Support is gone, Win 7 doesnt get any new Futures. But this doesnt Mean you dont get any future Saftey Updates or Bug Fixes up to 2020 as privat User so far for Germany. After Divx 11 supported from Win 7 there is no need to change to Win 10.
[BSS-214]commiekiller18 Posted May 30, 2017 Posted May 30, 2017 Bump, and it aint windows, this started happening to me after the first or second hot fix after the dx update. After the dx update the game was butter in all aspects then a hotfix made it stutter. Would really like to be able to play online again, only got over 100usd sunk into this.
moonatic Posted June 1, 2017 Posted June 1, 2017 Have these stutters now too. I just don´t know with which of the last patches it apears cause i haven´t played BoX for some time. There where always some stutters here and there ever in this game for me but now it´s just unplayable. I play multiplayer only and the stutter and freezes apear whenever other planes are nearby. ITAF_Rani Posted October 7, 2017 Posted October 7, 2017 (edited) Do you use FFB Joysick and Track-Ir? Update: try to raise "camera smoothing" in control panel menu, this solved the problem for me. Txs Fox, I also use FF2 and Tr Ir..after last hotfix..I had microstuttering...solved problem rising camera smoothness from 50 to 100 Edited October 7, 2017 by ITAF_Rani

ITAF_Rani Posted October 7, 2017 Posted October 7, 2017 Hi Sshadow I have a GTX 770 vers 376.33 Your advices could be helpful also for mine?
150GCT_Veltro Posted October 9, 2017 Posted October 9, 2017 Txs Fox, I also use FF2 and Tr Ir..after last hotfix..I had microstuttering...solved problem rising camera smoothness from 50 to 100 Same here. After the last hotfix, "the strange" microst uttering is come back. I will try your tip.
150GCT_Veltro Posted October 11, 2017 Posted October 11, 2017 Camera smooth on 100% and the Nvidia setting posted above does work fine. Microstuttering is gone. Thank you.
ITAF_Rani Posted October 11, 2017 Posted October 11, 2017 Hi Veltro which type of Nvidia do you use? Mine is GTX 770 do you think I could set same parameters?
150GCT_Veltro Posted October 12, 2017 Posted October 12, 2017 GTX 1060 but i don't think that microstuttering is related to GPU, but instead to some VR default hardcoded setting introduced with the last hotfix. I still have some stuttering when i'm close to another aircraft, even if a fighter (bombers have more polycount). Hotfix "d" has broken something i'm afraid.
303_Kwiatek Posted October 20, 2017 Posted October 20, 2017 I got heavy stutters at Kuban map online where near other dogfighting planes even with constant 60 fps. Other maps seemed ok for me. I got I5 4.5 Ghz with gtx 670.
