Accessing Game Missions

Salutations,

 

Is there a method to access the games included missions with the MIssion Editor?

 

I desire to study them in the ME and possibly modify them for saving under a different name for my own use.

I think I read somewhere that this could be done but don't remember the details.

There is a trick, but if you don't have a very good understanding of the mission editor, it will be very difficult to understand what you see, or find what you want.

 

Anyway, here is the trick.

 

1- Run the game

2- Run a campaign (not a scripted campaign).

3- Run a mission from the campaign. No need to complete it, fly a few minutes.

4- Quit the mission.

5- Quit the game.

6- Go in that directory : H:\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data\Missions

7- Copy all the files (8 ) which start by _gen , in another directory, thats the mission you played.

8- Open the editor

9- Open the _gen.mission file

 

Be carefull, all _gen files are erase as soon you play a mission. That's why i tell you to copy them in another directory.

When i said you need a good understanding of the mission editor, it's because the mission which are generate by campaign generator do not use any group as human mission builder does. So finding a specific information is hard.
