TazMan Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 Hello, Forgive me if these are "why don't I know the answer to this already" questions... Basic information: I started BoS the other day when the 2.006 update came out. So I downloaded and installed it without an issue for BoS. I also own BoM. I didn't realize at the time the even though it is a "merged installation" I needed to launch BoM to update BoM to 2.006. Thus BoM downloaded the 4.5gb +/- patch and updated last night. When I launched BoS the 10 days of Autumn was locked. When I launched BoM the 10 days of Autumn was locked. I had read elsewhere in the forum that there were 5 keys graciously provided to 5 lucky winners of ones generosity. Questions: * Do I need to update BoS and BoM independently even though I only launch BoS from the merged installation? * What is the 10 days of autumn and is another purchase required to activate this update / add-on. Sincere thanks for your help in advance, Cheers! -Taz

BoM/BoS and BoK are contents for one game installation, it is merged by default, no need to have two installations. No matter how it is called on your drive (Battle of Stalingrad or Battle of Moscow) it will open the same game with the same content available for your account. 216th_Jordan Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 216th_Jordan, Thank you very much for your reply and information. Did I then somehow install something incorrect since my BoM updated separately from BoS? I have been just launching BoS and I do see the BoS and BoM banners in the top left pane then using the sim.... It is a bit unlogical but since the release of BoM if you download the installer from the website it will install the same game but call it 'Battle of Moscow' So if you installed it with the older installer it will be 'Battle of Stalingrad' but essentially it is just 'Il-2' and both installations contain exactly the same. So you can delete one basically.
TazMan Posted December 22, 2016 Author Posted December 22, 2016 (edited) OK. So if I go and delete the BoM installation ALL of my BoM aircraft / maps and content will remain intact??? My concern / confusion is that since BoM updated independently yesterday after launching it. Now if I delete that installation I will loose content and / or have to reinstall the whole smash :-( I have a folder for BoS AND a folder for BoM..... Edited December 22, 2016 by TazMan
216th_Jordan Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 Do you have two different launchers? The content that is available to you is connected to the game account you login with. So if you have a fully patched version a player who has onlxy BoS and logs into your game with his account will only have his BoS content available, while you, when you log in (and you got BoS and BoM in your account) will be able to play BoS and BoM content. Long story short: You have one running installation of the game no matter what you purchased and once you log into the game with your account it will "unlock" all the stuff that is connected to your account. If you got 2 running installations you can delete one as both do exactly the same. Take the one installation you did not use a lot and delete it, make sure thought that it really is the right one: keybindings for example are locally installed and will not be configured by your account when you log in!
TazMan Posted December 22, 2016 Author Posted December 22, 2016 Thanks Jordan, I will delete the BoM installation folder and see what happens. I purchased BoS when it came out and subsequently purchased BoM so that is my install sequence. I will add this to my other post specific to my merged installation question. Thank you for your assistance and wish me luck! -Taz
