Blitzen Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 Let me understand the process.First I delete the msnbin.files found in most of the missions in Mission Folder. Is this correct? Then I open the Mission editor & find the missions I've just modified & try to save them under the "File" section of the editor & I do this over & over with each 3rd party mission? If this isn't the correct method could you please walk me through the correct way to do it?Many thanks!
Dakpilot Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 31. Mission format has been changed. Binary mission files .msnbin created earlier should be deleted, you can create new ones by opening your .Mission files and resaving in Mission Editor. If you used Complex Trtigger in your missions, delete .msnbin file first then replace all CheckEntities entries in .mission file by CheckPlanes, then resave your mission in Editor. Old track records can't be played In some cases there may be more to it, when complex triggers were used Cheers Dakpilot
Blitzen Posted December 21, 2016 Author Posted December 21, 2016 (edited) Dak' Appreciate your advice .I did read it in the first announcement & made note of it , but I am not quite sure I am doing it right. Can you look over my first post & confirm that I am on the right track? I have almost all the third party missions downloaded & installed in my Data/ Missions folder and have already deleted all the msbin. files in each one that are in the Mission folder ( there were quite a few...) after making a copy of the original folder of course -Is this correct? Then as near as I can figure out I should open the Mission Editor and point it at each individual mission ( in the "Data/Mission" folder& then "Save "it in its new ( msnbin. deleted,) form.Is this correct ....or should I be starting in the Mission Editor & delete ( somehow) the msnbun file there? I have quite a few good missions to try to save & would like to try not to screw them up. I suppose re-installing them from the original download won't work? Sorry to be so dense , but this editing is new stuff for me.Before all I had to do is hit" Tools/ Save to Folder" in Mission Editor & all the missions would work again in 2.05... Dakpilot Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 (edited) I am probably the worst person to ask about the ME but your initial method seems correct (delete msbin files first) however if there are complex triggers another step is needed https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/26660-error-reading-mission-file-after-update-already-deleted-msbi/ personally I would ask this question in the Missions section where you will probably get better advice To convert Veteranen missions will take more, read second to last post here https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/16008-platzschutzstaffel-pitomnik-mission-pack/page-3 Juri_JS will likely update his missions for 2.06, they were updated with improvements for 2.04 Cheers Dakpilot Edited December 21, 2016 by Dakpilot
