AI turret gunners non-effective (in particular the HE111)

Hey guys, I'm loving the game but I've noticed an issue with the AI gunners in bombers, this is particularly the case with the HE111. I've noted that they aren't very alert even when set to far engagement, they tend to shoot above and behind the enemy and don't reload the weapons, so when you take control of the gun you waste valuable time reloading.

For the HE these ineffective gunners coupled with its inability to take fire make for a very very low survivability rate, which is very unfortunate as I really like flying the HE111, so I was wondering if there was any way to fix this?
