Hi

I run win10 so i cannot check this nor have i had to keep current with any changes recently

BUT

This update was widely reported as being a problem for Win7 users playing CLOD. As such it could be an issue for players wanting to play both games still. As far as i know the recommendation for CLOD  is still to remove it (which will now affect BOS i assume).

The obvious solution is to update to win10 but i know this isnt always practicable for people.

Figured I'd just put it out there so clever people can perhaps either disprove its a problem or come up with a workable solution.

Regards

BOO

My first thought also, I had to install it in order to make BOS work, and I am guessing I will have CTD in COD after this install. I just wanted to try out JU 52 before I uninstall it again. If there going to be a choose between COD and BOS I guess COD win

Sorry, I don't understand why this is an issue.  I ditched KB267 blah blah blah years ago because it was an issue for me but as far as I know it has no impact on IL-2 BoS.

It was specifically stated that Win7 users need it to run it to use the latest BOS patch Wulf

Hi Quax,

Pilotpierre had the same issue, please read link below for his solution. Hopefully it may be the same issue/solution for your friend.

Click on one of the files to install and it should do it automatically, but make sure the two files are in the same folder when you do.

"Thank you, that did the trick - putting them both in the one folder and clicking on the larger one".

Do you mean there were being switched or actually being ignored?

Hell, youre a clever man, im not going to patronize you with the ole "plug in everything and keep them in the same USB port" fixes.

Sorry it doesn't work for you dB

lol you're not, I have my stupid moments :D I have my sim setup and I don't disconnect and/or change anythings. I've tried it when it was free.
Now that I revert back and I have to pay for Win 10. I wont change it until I change my PC in few years.

Well, now we can wait for the conspiracy theories to start " Jason Williams deliberately killed my CLOD" :-)

Its a shame that the 2 games are perhaps going to have problems co-existing with the KB patch as i think just as many of those affected will choose CLOD over BOS as they will BOS over CLOD - which is bad for both, and simmers as a whole, i think.

Perhaps a work around will emerge...I hope so

He found out, that it didnt install, because it was installed already. The error message is very misleading obviously.

Yep !  It seems to be a problem only when you run SweetFX in parallel which I don't do...

I had to update to kb2670838 to run BoS. No CloD anymore i guess unless TF can fix the issue, no way i am going to constantly uninstall reinstall everytime. I have w7 pro 64.

Hi Geleitzug has reported no problems so please dont take my word for it. I run 10 so cant test it but remembered the issue from the ATAG forums...

I feel like a bit of a scaremonger now :-/

I'm not taking your word for it, i'm taking mine. Great that Geleitzug has no problems with kb2670838 and Clod, i do. Anyway it is not the responsibility or 777 to do anything, only TF can. If they don't fix it though there will likely be a large drop in both player-bases as people will be forced to pick one or the other.

Do you have SweetFX running with CloD ? If yes, just turn it off and try whether you still get the crashes with CloD...

No, i don't use any of that stuff. Incidentally it was getting reshade 3 to work when i tried everything to get kb2670838 to work (as it requires it), Alas, nothing.

In the TF thread http://theairtactica...p?t=3528&page=2 they describe a (possible) solution for this problem with: "run DXSETUP from the DirectX folder within COD" - see post #45 and #46

Kameraden,

Given the choice, I have passed on this for now (because our squad flies CLoD).
