HagarTheHorrible Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 (edited) I was reading somebodies landing routine and I wondered if it might be an idea, if BoS is doing a training section, to have a ghost aircraft that flies a correct flight path or manoeuvre just in front of a players aircraft to show the proper technique, altitude, speed etc. This would have a reset button so that when things go pear shaped you can very quickly start again. Maybe it could be user adjustable so that players can upload training tracks of different manoeuvres for other players to try and follow. Edited November 30, 2013 by HagarTheHorrible

-MG-Cacti4-6 Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Nice idea! Though it could be very difficult to implement... well, not that difficult really, I mean it would be difficult, but not something that would take hundreds of man hours to implement. just on that particular bird you turn off collision detection and turn down the opacity on the model itself.
HagarTheHorrible Posted December 3, 2013 Author Posted December 3, 2013 Updated thought. A ghost plane as already mentioned, in the manner of the ghost car in F1 racing games, but now leaving a series of aircraft sized rings in the sky behind it ( I think RoF already does some floating rings for training purposes ). This allows for more accurate following of demonstrator aircraft, especially if more complex manoeuvres are being shown such as barrel rolls or rolling scissors for example
