VERMILLION_STUKA Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 Hi, I am planning to start using the standalone version after using steam so that my future purchases all go to the devs. I was wondering if there is a way to get the standalone updater get the files for the game from my steam folder so I don't need to download them again as my download speeds are very slow and also how can I transfer my joystick mappings from steam to the standalone. Thanks very much
Bando Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 If you buy your future products (for this sim) on this website, directly from the devs, you can play them even when you're on steam. You did activate your steam account once and all things to come will be in your profile (and playable to you) in the future. You really do not need to buy anything from this sim from steam, directly from here will work ok.

All is said You can keep your game on Steam and buy directly on the website to give 100% money to the Devs, don't worry it works perfectly!
J2_Trupobaw Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 1. There are .exe files of standalone BoS program in steam installation. If you choose to play standalone program, you just need to find them. You don't need to download anything! 2. What version you play has nothing to do with where your money goes to. Steam and standalone programs are pretty much same thing, and every user can log into every program. They difference is where you buy the payware - steam or store.3. If you buy payware before it's released on steam (preorders), you're buying it from the store like standalone version, but can convert it to steam DLCs. Best of both worlds?
cormorant Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 (edited) Pardon the newbie question, confirming if I buy Battle of Kuban and the JU-52 here direct from IL-2 site, it will show up and be playable on my steam game? Edited December 23, 2016 by cormorant
