Different input profiles for different planes?

Recommended Posts

Heya. So the Ju-52 is out and it gives some of us with multiple throttle inputs to try out a specific plane profile.

Would it be easier to create separate "input" folders for separate planes? (ie-"input-ju52" and then rename it to "input" when I want to load with that profile)

I know CLOD offers a way to save and load your input settings depending on the plane you want to fly, but I wasn't sure if I'm missing something here.

No option for save individual settings in game, is one global settings for all planes.

You can do this externally copying and moving config files, but is a bit laborious.

Salutations,

I think, from a players perspective, this situation is clearly unacceptable. We should be able to load up any crafts input scheme from 'within' the game inside 'settings'. Can achieving this be all that difficult? I sure hope it isn't.

We shouldn't have to exit the game to load a different 'input' file for a chosen craft.

Agreed it would be very nice feature to have.

Agreed,

I have CH Gear and love the fact that I can create different profiles for different planes. It would be really nice to be able to do this in game though.

about this -- I have just today figured out how to do it effectively (for me, at least) using this stuff: https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/19323-wejoy-phone-virtual-joystick-il2bos/

this combination of software allows you to "reroute" axes with some degree of flexibility

for instance, I have one profile in which the virtual-stick throttle axis is set to duplicate the right throttle of my x55 - this "virtual throttle" is then mapped to control RPM in game - and the profile is activated by the F7 key (very convenient hotkey feature)

at the same time - the x55 right throttle is ALSO mapped to engine #2 throttle - so for twin engine planes, I hit F8, which brings up another profile which is identical to the first one, except in that it does not have the throttle axis duplicated (it simply doesn't change throttle on the virtual stick)

so basically I have now a setup that allows me to switch RPM control with the right side throttle lever upon hitting F7/F8 -- very convenient
