SCG_Space_Ghost Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 Honestly, the stuff I have seen so far with tank simulation detail is impressive to say the least right now. I think the devs should team up with Graviteam and make wonderful tank baby. I think that with the finite resources, dollars and time they have they should focus on making a compelling combat flight simulator... you know... the thing they set out to do in the first place. 3
312_Tygr Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 Reverting to older drivers worked perfectly for me - thanks Han and team for your dedication, and all the best for upcoming holidays!
Ala13_knightcrow Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 In case it wouldn't have been clearly stated I want to give a huge THANKs to Han and all other members of 1C Developers and testers team. Let's hope NVIDIA does the job providing a new drivers implementation that saves our hunger for flying this great flight sim.
Jocko Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 GTX780 problem is solved for me. Thanks to Han and all involved. Have a Merry Christmas!

Thad Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 (edited) Salutations, Unfortunately, I have been unable to connect or run the game since yesterday. 1. "No connection with authorization server" 2. "Your connection to Master Server was temperarily lost. Check your internet connection" I have also occasionally been receiving the D3D_ERROR. Launching the Il2.exe directly did not help. I have been able to launch the game since the update. The last time is was able to do so the version shown was 2.006c. It was running perfectly with Ultra settings at 60 FPS. I've tried to launch the game many times over the past two days. Help! ST_ami7b5 Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 Thanks Han! Reverting the driver has helped.

JG5_Schuck Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 Same here, Went for the driver install. Now the game plays in full-screen, with everything maxed out, 2560x1440 G-Sync @ 120fps on 120Hz screen, and not a hiccup for 2 hours!! Lovely....... cheers Han
Thad Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 Maybe try a reinstall? OMG... I hope not... but if I continue to have this non connection problem, I will have no choice.
senseispcc Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 (edited) I have a Nvidia Gtx 970 4 gb gdr3 and the 376.33 nvidia driver all is nice at 60 fps constant. Thank you. And I like the La5 the most like you can see here on the left. Recently I acquired a "Hotas Warthog" Thrusmastar with a rudder paddel of the samme brand, great! But the most important the game is better with each patch and evolve in the right direction. One last note; the Yak 1 model 127 is a great plane easy and great to fly but really a war figther. curiousGamblerr Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 OMG... I hope not... but if I continue to have this non connection problem, I will have no choice. Reinstall of just the game isn't so bad if you save your control settings
Jason_Williams Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 Ok so there are a couple outstanding issues that the guys will fix after their Xmas break. 1. Aiming Help does not work for Joystick mode, only mouse. 2. The smoke has a green tint to it if HDR off. And there will be other odds and ends I am sure, but the main battle to make this update playable for all is accomplished. We'll continue to polish it as we move to the next big steps in the plan. Asgar Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 it's an amazing update and luckily i didn't suffer form any bugs so far. I'm very impressed with the amazing patch the team delivered and i'm looking forward to the bright futures of the IL-2 BoX series

Jason Oh wow I came to check if there was any news and 780 issue is (temporarily) fixed! Just tried it out and it works perfectly now. Thanks Jason, Han and everyone else who put their effort in finding a solution. Happy Holidays! 2
Thad Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 (edited) Negative... it would not start in Offline mode either. I finally did delete everything and re-installed. The game is now running but seems to be having problems allowing me to play a Full Screen. But at least it is running. ADDENDUM: Everything seems to be working as it should now. Now the game plays in full-screen, with everything maxed out, 2560x1440 G-Sync @ 120fps on 120Hz screen, and not a hiccup for 2 hours!! Lovely....... cheers Han Are you saying GSync is working in fullscreen? I thought it wasn't working like freesync in Fullscreen or did the driver fix that? Edited December 22, 2016 by astrix_au
D.B.Cooper Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 The 368.81 nvidiadriver was the solution! Thank you so much dev team!!
Danziger Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 I've been hard at work on a 4k conversion for the MiG-3 ever since the confetti disappeared so I haven't done a lot of actual playing. What I have seen is amazing though. Whatever happened in the DX11 conversion has made it much smoother playing and better looking than before. I really appreciate all of the work you guys put into this. You all must be exhausted and burned out by now. Have a happy and relaxing holiday break! It is very well deserved
Beazil Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 Unbelievable. I'm glad you guys were able to make all these fixes so quickly and resolve things for the people having issues before your hard earned break. Amazing stuff. Just amazing. *mind still blown about the team fusion announcement, recent dx11* What a great time to be a simmer.
JG5_Schuck Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 (edited) Astrix_au. I think the older driver has allowed it to work. Mine now launches and plays in fullscreen with G-Sync on (v-sync off), and FPS tops out at 120, my screen refresh rate. Oddly things like bomb craters and defences seem to flicker quite badly........ but hey, i can live with that as the game runs again!!! Edited December 22, 2016 by JG5_Schuck
Urra Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 All those craters flicker on mine and I still have the latest drivers. Will try rollback.
pilotpierre Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 Bravo Zulu for you dedication Devs, simply oustanding.
1PL-Husar-1Esk Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 Astrix_au. What older nv driver version do you use ? I traied 368.81 with same result - G-sync do not work in full screen mode.
1PL-Husar-1Esk Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 I suspect that even in windowed mode g-sync is not working, tearing is much visible when fps are much above monitor refresh rate (and ratio numbers are not integers) and when in windowed mode fps are limited by desktop refresh rate. With new engine fps drops are rare so fps seem steady. I enebled g-sync for windowed and full screen mode in NVCP and choosed to display indicator if g-sync is enabled or not - but it can't be trusted, it shows enabled even in fullscreen mode which is not true because fps are above max monitor refresh rate and image is tearing.
AstrixAU Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 (edited) I suspect that even in windowed mode g-sync is not working, tearing is much visible when fps are much above monitor refresh rate I limited mine in windowed mode at 120 unfortunately there is no 144fps option. Tearing above the refresh rate is normal for freesync and I assume Gsync, I used to use FRTC in Radeon settings but that can't be used with Radeon ReLive recording. Now I'm using the in game limiter. My monitor supports freesync between 40-144hz anything above that will have tearing and below can stutter. Edited December 23, 2016 by astrix_au
AstrixAU Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 (edited) Weird thing is in bordeless when I let my fps go over 144 I still don't see tearing but there can be a stutter as it won't be synced. Normally as soon as my fps goes over the 144fps in Fullscreen I see heaps of tearing so it's weird what I'm seeing in borderless. Radeon Crimson 16.12.1+ now support Freesync in borderless too. FlyingNutcase Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 I just tested my old dog of a computer and with a 16 aircraft furball in a Quick Mission, I get 50-60 FPS. with max graphics. I'm floored - I never thought my I'd see that with this computer. Well done devs, looks like I can start flying again!
Frequent_Flyer Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 Latest hotfix broke what was a great experience for me. The first release worked great, the first patch seemed to make no big positive/negative changes--the latest patch, however, is a disappointment. Framerates are down, slight tearing is back, smoke has this weird green/yellow tint to it and you can see clouds clipping or appearing through the smoke in negative colors. Also, the extreme pixellation every time the plane flies between a cloud and the camera is back. I can't post grabs right now as I'm leaving on vacation for a week. I have an Asus PC M32 with upgraded video card to GTX 1080. Nvidia drivers are all up to date. Same as above for me, lost on average 5 FPS. Down to 55 from 60. running a GTX-750. The original release was significantly smoother, although no meaningful performance increase , was always getting 60 FPS.
Jason_Williams Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 Because of the damn AMD problem with particles we had to remove one of our optimizations so that could affect performance a little. Blame AMD please, not us. There are other developers complaining of the same issue. Jason 3
SYN_Mike77 Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 Backspace is not pulling up the FPS counter. I've checked and there are no conflicts. Any hints?
SYN_Mike77 Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 anyone else have a problem with the fps counter...better yet, anyone have a problem and fix it?
Yogiflight Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 Maybe you just don't see it, right upper corner, quite small and green. Not comparable with the large fat yellow Fraps counter. More discreet.
FlyingNutcase Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 (edited) anyone else have a problem with the fps counter...better yet, anyone have a problem and fix it? Mine is working fine too (and the numbers blow my mind!). You know to look in the very top right corner, small font size, right? Edited December 23, 2016 by FlyingNutcase
AndyJWest Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 FPS works fine for me. Only issue is that it can be hard to see against some backgrounds. I'd suggest a three-way 'toggle' would be the solution: off/green as is/green with a black background rectangle.
