TheHighwayman Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 Help! I am editing a skin in GIMP, and when I open the skin in IL2, I get an error saying the file size is too big. It's about double what it is supposed to me. I believe I have followed the procedure correctly, and I am not adding much detail. I am using the skin template and adding a few stripes and some lettering. Any ideas? Thanks!
BOO Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 Hi Hit bottom visible layer, select "clip to bottom layer" and use BC3/DXT5 compression, opt to generate mipmaps and and in the advanced options select "box" instead of default. That should give you a 5.6MB skin. Are you working from the public template or from a previously generated image? It looks like the latter your additions appear to be sitting over the various wear and terar layers.. Regards BOO 1
TheHighwayman Posted December 12, 2016 Author Posted December 12, 2016 I am working from the template available on this forum, I believe it is official. Do I need to change the order of layers in some fashion? Thanks!
TheHighwayman Posted December 12, 2016 Author Posted December 12, 2016 I've noticed I have a very clean plane, which I really like, but I have lost some detail. I can't even see rivets. Going to check out opacity settings.
