taffy2jeffmorgan Posted December 10, 2016 Posted December 10, 2016 This has always been a bit of a bitch of mine, that in campaign mode there is no option in realism to customize, the only options being normal or expert. I again ask this question because there is for offer an up and coming [pre-order] single player campaign " Ten days in Autumn " will this fall into the same category as the present mode of campaigns with there being again no option in realism for the custom button ? Cheers.
Finkeren Posted December 10, 2016 Posted December 10, 2016 I'd like to know as well. I've never understood the decission to go with the difficulty presets anyway. I hope they will go the way of the dodo, at least when they design the career mode.

Cheers. I asked BlackSix about this. I agree with You. Option "custom" here is necessary and Id like to see it. One week ago he doesnt know how it will be look in the final. It is here: https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/26414-discussion-new-scripted-campaign-system-and-pre-order/page-2?do=findComment&comment=415434 Edited December 10, 2016 by YoYo
taffy2jeffmorgan Posted December 10, 2016 Author Posted December 10, 2016 Thanks both, It's a shame that the extensive campaign mode is not open to customization, we have to give everyone that option, I'm thinking of all the potential fly boys who are yet to purchase this wonderful simulation. Cheers.

You'll be able to choose Custom Settings concretely in "Ten days in Autumn" and in the new scripted campaign system on the whole. But I can't answer now about our new Career mode we'll start to do it only next year.
YoYo Posted December 10, 2016 Posted December 10, 2016 (edited) Wow, great news in Saturday morning !!! This "custom of realizm" option will it be from beginning of "Ten Days of Autumn" (I hope)? Or it will be in future patch? Edited December 10, 2016 by YoYo
taffy2jeffmorgan Posted December 10, 2016 Author Posted December 10, 2016 Good news , Thanks Black Six
Finkeren Posted December 10, 2016 Posted December 10, 2016 This "custom of realizm" option will it be from beginning of "Ten Days of Autumn" (I hope)? Or it will be in future patch? Since the scripted campaigns are an entirely new game mode, I can't see why they'd wait to implement custom realism settings for a future update. I mean, we can already customize realism in both single- and quick missions, it's not as though they'd have to invent something new.

I believe it was there because at the time of unlocks, you'd get 1x XP-points in Normal and 1.5x XP-points in Realistic therefore costume settings might have proved difficult to tie to how much XP you'd be rewarded. But with that silly system gone, I see no reason for not enabling costume realism.

Yeah, I know why they did it, but they could just as easily have made a scalable system, where each box you ticked in realism setting would cost you a certain percentage of your XP, depending on the importance of that setting (enabling automatic mixture control might cost you 3%, while enabling unlimited ammo might cost you 50% and invulnerability 80%)
