SCG_motoadve Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 Oleg Maddox started the original IL2, he is not mentioned anymore (he retired?) Is there a connection between this new Il2 series and the old one, or only the IL2 name is the same. A totally new developer tem, or some come from the old one? Just wondering.
wtornado Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 (edited) It is hard to say. The company went from 1C: Maddox games and it changed it name ti to 1C company. in about 2009 and Cliff of Dover failed miserably. Never seen him around except for the DCS stuff though. Don't know how that is going either it has been a WIP for so long. Edited December 5, 2016 by WTornado

DCS WW2 failed miserably under Ilya and Eagle Dynamics themselves had to take over the project, or rather pledging to make the map and announced aircrafts. A few has been released and the map is soon released also.
=38=Tatarenko Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 1C is a HUGE Russian software company. Oleg M was head of games development there for a while as well as working on his own games. He does neither now, I think.
Sokol1 Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 (edited) The connection between IL-2 2001 and IL-2 2014 is basically the name "IL-2 Sturmovik" - property of 1C (for games) a Russian games distributor. It's said that when O.M. sight the "Iceberg" ahead CloD he jump of the boat - although tried to maintain the pose in that... erh release - and goes work with 3D software for civil engineering (Vizerra).
