Zargos Posted January 19, 2018 Posted January 19, 2018 Hello guys, I'm back with my first skin of 2018. This time it's a Yak-1B of a Polish Squadron located near Warzaw in 1944. For this skin I didn't use the colours of the default template because I think they are not the right ones. I saw some pictures of parts of real planes on the net, I also visit many modelers site which confirm my opinion. This is the reason why I've used different colours : Download and historic context HERE Credits : template form ICDP Cheers 1 9
E69_julian57 Posted January 19, 2018 Posted January 19, 2018 I love your skins since IL-2-1946, especially the semi-matte texture that you put on it. Thank you very much.

Spuks Posted February 10, 2018 Posted February 10, 2018 There are several links and a lot of books and revues...I also sought the advice of two great French specialists of the NN: Christian-Jacques Erhenghart and Many Souffan. The latter will soon release a special issue of his magazine with the profiles of all yaks from the first GC3 campaign. You can find some photos here (but the profiles are unclear and errors have occurred with the numbers) > http://airfield.narod.ru/yak/yak-1/yak-1_color5.html Another wip > I'm making these one with this photo only... so, I've got to imagine a lot... Maybe it would be intresting
PatCartier Posted February 11, 2018 Posted February 11, 2018 Thank you, I know this doc but I dont know who is the autor ? Many Souffan said that De la Poype yak was not #33 and #30 but he does not want tell more before the release of his book... I'm working on Tulasne's yak #28. This #35 is a Yak 9, I made a mistake. ++
Spuks Posted February 13, 2018 Posted February 13, 2018 (edited) I found this doc in massimotessitori forum about sovietwarplanes so I quote: "this is a part of Marc Chassard work .don't take care of the AII and AMT painting suposiiton at this time he worked with pilawskii who was in those time the only VVS specialist known in France. All his work his very reliable. He wrote a paper about the NN first campaign". Soviet airplanes were delivered to the units already with the number on board which are selected according to serial numbers, for example: 33.116 is number 33. Subsequently it was changed to 30 because there appeared more aircrafts with the similar numbers in squadron. Later, perhaps, the number has been changed again, but we already know from the book of Many Souffan. I'm hoping his book will be very informative. It will be nice to add Tulasne's yak # 28 to my collection Edited February 13, 2018 by Waiduooklis
PatCartier Posted February 14, 2018 Posted February 14, 2018 Yes some of them has been changed. The green and black painting has been changed too, when the when white camouflage became useless. ++
