56RAF_Roblex Posted November 9, 2017 Posted November 9, 2017 Another teaser wip ! That is lovely. It is not complicated but it has very nice texture & detail. ps I think Julian was asking where you got the actual number '13' from, not the rest of the skin, because he wants to add a number 13 in that font to one of his own aircraft. 1
PatCartier Posted November 9, 2017 Posted November 9, 2017 Ok thank you. They are handmade. Here is a "template" for # 2/3/4 > https://www.dropbox.com/s/d7z4o6m9xi3jicm/234.rar?dl=0

Kraftowod Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 (edited) Looks nice indeed...but historical completely inaccurate. However, I know that we can appreciate skins that are not, I just wanted to clarify this point to potential buyers ... lol S! And I did not say that this is a true historical skin ! ( But he could be like that at the time ) Here is the historical skin Edited December 14, 2017 by Kraftowod

Spuks Posted December 26, 2017 Posted December 26, 2017 (edited) Nice work Pat :good: :good: :good: Maybe you can add the link by which you created these skins. I am currently reading a couple books about Normandie-Niemen. So would be nice to find out more about this squadron. Edited December 26, 2017 by waiduooklis
PatCartier Posted December 27, 2017 Posted December 27, 2017 (edited) There are several links and a lot of books and revues...I also sought the advice of two great French specialists of the NN: Christian-Jacques Erhenghart and Many Souffan. The latter will soon release a special issue of his magazine with the profiles of all yaks from the first GC3 campaign. You can find some photos here (but the profiles are unclear and errors have occurred with the numbers) > http://airfield.narod.ru/yak/yak-1/yak-1_color5.html Another wip > I'm making these one with this photo only... so, I've got to imagine a lot... Madcop Posted December 27, 2017 Posted December 27, 2017 There are several links and a lot of books and revues...I also sought the advice of two great French specialists of the NN: Christian-Jacques Erhenghart and Many Souffan. The latter will soon release a special issue of his magazine with the profiles of all yaks from the first GC3 campaign. I have the excellent French reviews ICARE (N°s 62-63-64-65-67 and 70 from the years 1972-1974)about the Normandie Niemen story. These are gold mines. Could you please tell us the name of the magazine from Manu Souffian and Christian Jacques Erhenghart that you were talking about. ? Thanks a lot. If I can help.... Madcop
PatCartier Posted December 27, 2017 Posted December 27, 2017 CJE > Aérojournal : http://www.aero-journal.com/ Manny Souffan > Aces : https://www.editions-heimdal.fr/fr/78-aces ++ I have the excellent French reviews ICARE (N°s 62-63-64-65-67 and 70 from the years 1972-1974)about the Normandie Niemen story. These are gold mines. Madcop Posted December 27, 2017 Posted December 27, 2017 (edited) CJE > Aérojournal : http://www.aero-journal.com/ Manny Souffan > Aces : https://www.editions-heimdal.fr/fr/78-aces ++ You can read french ? Yes I can read and speak. I thought you did also ! My first thought was that behind "PatCartier" was a hidden Frenchie...(PatCartier = French prononciation for French "Pas de quartier " that means "Kill them all, no mercy") I already have lot of Aéro Journal as well the 5 issues of ACES. The last one is about (among others) A.Littolf. Very nice and complete, with two very well rendered profiles of two of his Yak-1b. I really hope that this new high quality French title will last for long ! If you want you can PM me. With pleasure. Madcop PS In ACES N°5 you can find pictures of Littolf Yak-1 Winter scheme (Red 16 with black spinner and no French cockade), a profile of the same Aircraft with the little French cockade added as well as his summer camouflaged Yak-1b White II ,sporting a tricolor spinner (or black)a little French cockade and 11-12 Victory symbols Two nice aircrafts that are awaiting your talent !
