VBF-12_Stick-95 Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 (edited) Anyone have this combo working? I can't get pass step one. The throttle is recognized in the OS just fine. I have J2K set to Run as Admin. J2K shows the throttle in the listed controllers. It does not however recognize (highlight) my pressing of any throttle button in the assignment area. If I assign a keyboard letter to a known throttle button number and attempt to test it in Wordpad I get nothing. Very frustrating. The highlights never move when buttons are pressed. Sokol1 Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 Are you sure that "Joystick 1" is the throttle and not stick or pedal? I use Joy2Key with several controller in various games without problem. Anyway why don't use CH soft (Manager)?
=EXPEND=Tripwire Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 Settings > Configure Joysticks > Advanced Settings for each device TAB > Select Device and set it to a joystick number Does that cure the issue?
VBF-12_Stick-95 Posted November 29, 2016 Author Posted November 29, 2016 Thanks for both of your posts! After Sokol's post I was able to stumble into it. I think I have most everything mapped. Will give the guy some money for writing it. Not a fan of CHCM.
AH_Olds Posted May 16, 2019 Posted May 16, 2019 (edited) I know this is an old post, but I was having the same problem. Could not figure out how to get the shift key to work, until I found this. Now the shift function works! Next step will be trying to set a keybinding like Alt +...think I saw instructions on JoytoKey's site for multiple keys. Might fix the problem. Thanks for the tip! Sokol1 Posted May 16, 2019 Posted May 16, 2019 (edited) When you select a button to configure in JoyTokey, and press LShift (or RShift) in keyboard, JoyTokey assume "Shift" what will recognize both LShift and RShift press. If want specific "LShift" , right click in the assignment box and choose "L-Shift" in pop-up menu. Same for Alt, Ctrl. https://joytokey.net/en/screens/ShiftClick_en.png https://joytokey.net/en/message Edited May 16, 2019 by Sokol1

If I'm carrying bombs, and activate boost, JoyToKey drops a bomb as well as turning boost on or off, because the "b" key drops bombs. I have tried various things to resolve this but I've hit a dead end. Does anyone know a solution other than changing/deleting IL-2 default keybinds?
Sokol1 Posted April 17, 2020 Posted April 17, 2020 This issue is due how the game (IL-2 GB) see combo keys (e.g. L-Shift+b), what make JoyToKey not suitable for this kind of keys combo. Instead use Joystick Gremlin and set "delay" between "L-Shift" and "b" press.

Instead use Joystick Gremlin and set "delay" between "L-Shift" and "b" press. That's what I suspected. I confirmed in Notepad that JTK was indeed sending only the correct characters. I discovered only one other instance of this issue - the parking brake control Lshift+g and the landing gear toggle, g. Since I don't use the toggle - I use the separate landing gear up and down controls - I simply deleted the keybind for the toggle, and I deleted the "b" keybind for dropping bombs and mapped the button directly. I REALLY like having an audible cue to indicate which profile I just loaded when I switch "modes", so I'll be sticking with JTK. I found a nice, mechanical sounding click .wav file and edited it to create 3 tracks, so I have 1 click for mode 1 being loaded, 2 clicks for mode 2, etc.. No more getting mixed up in the heat of things! Thanks for the help! o7
Eclipse4349 Posted April 20, 2020 Posted April 20, 2020 I ended up switching to Joystick Gremlin. The conditional activation is bugged so it doesn't allow a "shift" button to work, but using a temporary mode switch and utilizing multiple modes worked just fine to rebuild my profile from CH Control Manager. Being able to record macros and tweak delays between presses and releases was crucial to getting it to work, but it all works. Finally no more glitchy control issues!
