Noob Key Mapping Help

Hi All

Could I please get advise on what ye would consider essential keys to be mapped to my hotas t flight thrustmaster. I am quite competent at basic controls but I am not using trim settings or stabilizers. I have a few key mapping guide but find it overwhelming as I want to get used to essential commands first!

What aircraft are you flying? If you favor a specific side that can have an impact too (e.g. no mixture settings on German, but mixture is essential for Russian planes).

My fav is the BF 109's sometimes use the FW. I can take off and land ok now but I find my plane is pulling to the left or right, up or down too much in flight.

Go to controls and use one stick or throttle (better, e.g. the one under thumb) HAT for trim, assign the same HAT up and down movements for this commands:

- Adjustable stabilizer axis  >>>> press HAT up, then down.

- Fw-190 adjustable stabilizer up >>>> press HAT up (or down if became inverted).

- Fw-190 adjustable stabilizer down >>>> press HAT down

This is all trim that you will have for Luftwaffe fighters.

This planes only fly (more or less) straight hands on specific ATA/RPM/Speed parameters, the called "cruise speed".

Thanks, I guess half the battle is knowing the planes limitations.Just one last question, as I have said I love the BF 109's even before i took up flight sims, but is this actually the best plane to start with? Are any other planes easier to fly?

Depends on what you want to do :) Il-2 is also a very good plane, easy to handle and great for ground attack. Basically all planes have their nice and not so nice characteristics. Fly them all and see what you like most. But yeah, the 109 generally is a good plane.
